I wouldn’t call Shabaneh a hero by any stretch. He was responsible for many decent Palis being summarily murdered for no other crime than selling their land to a Jooo. Israel probably saved his life by arresting him, and thereby putting him beyond the reach of his erstwhile partners in crime. If there’s a hero and a true “moderate” that should be celebrated, it’s Khaled Abu Toameh, who’s been one of the few consistent Arab voices in Israel for sanity.

Yes, but does Khaled Abu Toameh have any influence amongst the Arabs in the West Bank. I read him, but I’m a sea and an ocean away. Do they? I won’t even mention Gaza. Is anyone listening?

Toameh is trying to get the story out in the US. He made the rounds of campuses and congregations here. Glick is correct though. Not too many want to listen.

He is a brave man.
