If giving away a multibillion-dollar fortune is hard work, Bill Gates has been slaving away since he relinquished active management of Microsoft Corporation in 2008. Perhaps the most loathed technology executive of the P.C. era, he now bottle-feeds African babies and champions touchy-feely models of capitalism as he yearns to become the world's most beloved philanthropist.
But adoration from liberals comes with a high price, especially if you've been one of the most ruthless and successful businessmen in American history. You must not only lavish support on the right causes, but you must also hold the right opinions, whether they make sense or not.

He should have used his billions to help America- not foreign sh*tholes who hate us.
You got that right!
He made his fortune in the greatest nation in the world, and somehow feels he has to ‘give back’ by helping Africans?
He earned his money honestly. Bill Gates owes nothing to anyone.
Yes. God forbid he should help those who supported his climb to fame. Ungrateful SOB.
higher CO2= lower crop yields?
What the hell?! He might know electronics but this guy flunked biology class...or should have.
And his software crashes
#1 - The Gates Foundation gives plenty to schools and libraries in the United States.
#2 - Whatever the reasoning, cheap nuke power is a good thing for the undeveloped as well as the developed world.
What? Microsoft has probably helped more people become millionaires than any company in history. He has probably “helped” more people then you could imagine.
Not defending his environmental kookism (of which there are plenty up here), just stating the facts.
I thought we were discussing Bill Gates.
Bill Gates, Idiot Savant.
He is now one of the biggest funders of liberal causes
This is where the dropout factor comes into play.
I don't know everything he and Melinda are doing with the foundation's billions, but fighting malaria is a big part of their work and is a fairly non-political disease.
So did I.
Seems like a lot of people feel that if they are successful in one area, it qualifies them to speak like experts on any subject.
And, of course, liberals don’t have to believe anything that corresponds to reality. They just have to have the “right” sentiments. Good intentions are all that matter. With such a philosophy, they can never fail. How liberating that must be.
What was done as Microsoft was for the benefit of the corporation - Microsoft.
What is being done by the individual person Bill Gates is for the benefit of same.
There IS a difference.
Malaria kills more people than any other cause. If Gates cures that what will happen to the rainforests? Malaria is the protector of those forest.
And Mr Gates what effect do you think that wiping out the rainforest will have on your golbal warming scam?
The founder of MicroSoft loosed a jar full of mosquitos in a talk at the Technology, Entertainment, Design Conference (TED) today while talking about the death toll due to malaria and other mosquito-borne diseases. Of course he thinks its a good idea to spend $10 per mosquito net in order to give people an imperfect barrier against mosquitos, instead of spending a few cents per house to spray the inside of a one-room mud-brick house with DDT and keep mosquitos (and other nasty creepy crawlies) dead instead of biting people.
