WASHINGTON For five years, the United States has shunned Syria, denying the Arab country the prestige and access that come with having an American ambassador in Damascus.
Well, if they’re going to make a tank parking lot to fend off an Israeli attack, you can expect it to look like Hickam Field, circa 1941, should there be an Israeli attack.
Despite my fellow FReepers having already mined this vein of potential Sand Savage behavioral humor, I can’t resist noting that “....to make a parking lot for Syrian army tanks....”is equivalent to providing the Israeli military with a barrel full of tanks.
After all, the Mid East is a dry habitat and the usual and customary ‘barrel of fish’ would be hard come by.
I think it’s to prevent Lebanese refugees from entering Syria once the shooting starts.
Then the whole country would resemble a glassy parking lot.
