Illinois and Texas demonstrate the need for TEApublicanism [Heed it!]
Renew America ^ | 17 Feb 2010 | Tim Dunkin

...The Illinois Republicans need a good draught of TEApublicanism. What would have happened in this primary race if conservatives within the GOP had been able to organize and work with Tea Partiers and other independent grassroots conservative organizations to push for Hughes? We might be talking about nominee Hughes now. Even if Kirk had ended up winning, the race would definitely have been more competitive. Certainly, however, the Illinois GOP establishment would have had a run for its money.

But even more than just organizing to win a single primary election, Illinois needs grassroots conservatives to get involved and start taking the Illinois GOP over, one county at a time (especially with the massive and weighty Cook County Party). Flood the county conventions with numbers, and get conservatives put into place, regardless of the wishes of the current crop of establishment "leaders." Taking the Illinois GOP back for conservatism would help to prevent mistakes like a Mark Kirk candidacy from taking place again...

I think they missed a letter. It should be the Crook County Party.

Good analysis of the Texas race. We have several kooks in the state trying to steal the tea mantle.

“What would have happened in this primary race if conservatives within the GOP had been able to organize and work with Tea Partiers and other independent grassroots conservative organizations to push for Hughes? We might be talking about nominee Hughes now.”

The problem with this was timing. Hughes didn’t enter the race til about one week before the primary (just after Brown’s amazing victory.)

“We have several kooks in the state trying to steal the tea mantle.”

This we need to be careful with - in all of our states!

These are the kind of REPUBLICANS we have running and the Leadership of the IRP is SILENT!

Skip Saviano running for Republican State Central Committee in March 2010.

http://www.ktfmediagroup.com/home/2009/04/01/pasta-instead-of-payoff-mob-boss-john-difronzo-and-illinois-state-rep-skip-saviano-are-both-handy-in-the-kitchen/

Saviano has been a lousy excuse for a GOP party official (SCC member), and public official (State Rep.) for as long as anyone can remember.

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/opinion/editorials/ct-edit-video-20100210,0,1362547.story - Trib editorial from last week.

http://www.championnews.net/article.php?sid=1759 General lowlights on Saviano.

http://www.championnews.net/article.php?sid=722 - summary of Skip’s worst votes as a State Rep.

http://www.championnews.net/article.php?sid=823 - summary of Skip’s ties to Democrat money.

http://www.championnews.net/article.php?sid=133 - Has photo of Saviano campaigning in partnership with liberal Democrat State Senator Don Harmon. They are close friends and even share a legislative office in the district. A friend of mine ran against Don Harmon in 2006 and witnessed many times where Saviano would not only help the Republican - he actively campaigned for Democrat Harmon. My friend’s campaign took this photo at a parade. It’s beyond outrageous that any Republican - especially a member of the SCC - would campaign for a liberal Dem. And worse when it’s at the expense of a good Republican challenger. SAVIANO SHOULD BE REJECTED JUST ON THE BASIS OF THIS PROOF ALONE (of course what should happen and what some people are willing to do, are two very different things in this party).

http://www.championnews.net/article.php?sid=225 Back in early 2007, the SCC - which of course included Saviano - tried to tell some good Republicans they couldn’t use the word “Republican.”

http://www.championnews.net/article.php?sid=645 More on the Jim Rowe vs. Don Harmon race from 2006.

http://www.championnews.net/article.php?sid=881 Saviano is one of the names.

http://www.championnews.net/article.php?sid=1079 Saviano was one of the GOP state reps to vote for more gambling - shortly after a new state party platform was adopted condemning further expansion.

http://www.championnews.net/article.php?sid=1743 - Saviano was a part of this ridiculous plan last year to sue Republicans over SB600.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic Governor's race in Texas- Ron Paul 'truther' nutter trying to slither into Governor's chair:

Debra Medina is representing herself as a tea party candidate and a Republican in the governor's race in Texas. Medina is NOT representative of the Tea Party movement. She USED them- latched herself on to them. She’s a hard core Libertarian who has realized that the Libertarian Party will never win anything and that the only possible way to get herself into office is to do what Ron Paul did and wrap herself in the Republican cloak in hopes that it will fool enough of the voters enough of the time.

Ron Paul nutters swamped Glen Beck with calls and emails to have Median on his show. He did. Listeners asked him to ask her if she believed the U.S. government had anything to do with 9/11. He did. She exposed herself. Now the Ron Paul nutters are accusing Beck of 'setting' her up.

This idea that Beck (or anybody else) sabotaged Medina is absurd. If you can’t answer “did the govt have anything to do with the 9/11 attacks?” you're not be fit to run for dogcatcher.

For God's sake, has anybody really looked into her platform- her background? Has this woman even been vetted?

She wants legalized drugs.

She backs gay marriage.

Rumors are beginning to surface about Medina's husband, Noe, and his associations

She has not spoken to her elderly parents for YEARS. They had to find out she was runing for governor of Texas by reading the newspaper!

http://www.statesman.com/news/texas-politics/medina-hailing-from-beeville-learned-political-skills-on-229907.html?srcTrk=RTR_95609 What does this say about this woman's character? And rumors are begin to surface about husband Noe's past associations.

Take a look at some of the statements she has made: "It’s a shame isn’t it, that Republicans continue to ignore Hispanics especially here in Texas?’

"Who is going to think more about Latino families? Rick Perry, Kay Bailey Hutchison or me, who has a Latino family?”

"Being married, however, to someone with a Mexican American heritage, I certainly embrace the culture.”

"I believe we too often get into race when it’s immaterial.” (Obummer, is that you?)

I don't believe for one minute Medina's propaganda about wanting to strengthen the border!

La Raza probably has her in their back pocket!

Glenn Beck has once again helped the tea-party stay in the Republican mainstreamby by weeding out dangerous fringe thinkers like Medina.

Thank God Glen Beck outed her in time.

Retrieve your sombrero from the ring and go home Senora Medina. You're Texas toast.

If the Pubs blow this race by trying to get odd, funny with the voters by either running a 3rd Party person or even forcing a guy who could actually win the race, I will be livid. RINOS are a horror but Kirk is not a RINO. He is a Centrist who can actually win in Ill. Of course, there should be a primary but if they foul up this win, then they ought to be ashamed. If Hughes could win, and polls must show it, then fine. But, my bet is that Blue Ill. will elect Kirk but not him. If Kirk also agrees to a Contract agenda, then boy howdy , he will win. Why not at least offer one to him?

Kirk, a Centrist? You gotta be kidding. Mark Kirk has hung onto his seat in my district by catering to the hyper-liberals in the Chicago north suburbs. Kirk is a creature of the “Combine,” the state GOP “leadership” who, in their own quest for power and perks, have assured the GOP in Illinois of continued “step-child of dubious parentage” status.
