Tehran on path to our destruction
The Australian ^ | February 18, 2010 | Greg Sheridan

The international community is standing by as Iran goes nuclear.

STAND by for some bad news. No, I mean really bad news. The world is not going to apply crippling sanctions to Iran. Even if it did, Iran would not be deterred from developing nuclear weapons. The only way that Iran can be significantly delayed in its pursuit of nuclear weapons is through an Israeli air strike on its nuclear facilities.

I think the chances of an Israeli attack are somewhat less than 50-50. Even with an air strike, the likelihood is you would delay

rather than prevent Iran getting nuclear weapons. Don't get me wrong, a delay is much better than no delay, but the balance of probabilities is that Iran will ultimately have a nuclear arsenal.

I am closely aligned with Greg Sheridan's opinion. The only way a dent would be placed in the Iranian nuke program is a joint U.S.-Israeli combined missile and air strikes on Iranian nuke facilities.

Iran has supplied terrorists with arms and no reason to doubt the same pipeline will apply for nukes.

In the documentary HOLY WAR INC. an expert on nuclear weapons said a bomb can be made from even the ‘low grade’ enriched uranium (what Iran can currently produced). Wiki says only it would make a “crude” bomb. How effective?

This is what they are openly claiming. What are they hiding?

Seeing as how Iran has promised to wipe Israel from the face of the earth it would seem they have sealed their own fate.

"The international community is standing by as Iran goes nuclear. "

No worries.

President Obama will get right on that.

Just as soon as he figures out how to get his head out of his butt.

Let us not forget that the majority of Iranian people are NOT happy with Nutjob and his armageddon politics. If we must bomb something, let’s make sure we get the Nutjob and the Mullahs along with the centrifuges.

I am no great strategian but I would think that if Israel would attack Iran via EMP it would set them back for quite a bit with few direct loss of life. Processing Uranium is hi-tech and the EMP pulse would destroy a lot of the equipment they need to do it equipment they had to smuggle and would have to again and with the power grid out would be another set back. Last point the result could actually weaken the hard line government enough to allow the opposition to stage a over throw.

After their first strike on Israel, there will be a huge nuclear wasteland where their country used to be.

A Very Good article.

>>>”Iran has been determined to acquire nuclear weapons for a long time. It is, as US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton describes it, something of a military dictatorship, with the Revolutionary Guard assuming more and more power. It is still also, however, a theocratic dictatorship. The purpose of the state is to serve theological ends.”

Madam Secretary should also recognize that Iran began to become a “military dictatorship” about three decades ago – it was finalized around 2004-2005, for a full march forward.

In the last 7 years, there has been constant power struggle between a mullah theocracy & a mullah (military-led) theocracy. Often, it has been a hybrid. More so in the last several months, with a few *reformist/moderate/pragmatist* mullahs throwing in their weak muscles, in a hope of whatever is called *reform* of this abominable Theocratic Regime.

Essentially, Iran for 31 years has never been a Democracy. The theocracy can never be trusted with Nuclear Power & certainly not weapons.

Thanks for posting myknowledge.

I think Israel is aware of the danger of a demonstration of the effectiveness of EMP. Yes, it could harm Iran, but Israel and the west are far more vulnerable to EMP attacks, despite the best efforts at shielding gear. America (if it knew in advance) would find that even more disturbing than an Israeli nuclear strike and would veto it instantly.

Well Zero can afford to stand around with a finger up his orifices, but Israel can’t. Something has got to be done or there sure as hell going to be a lot of dead people and the light in the east won’t be a star shining over Bethleham it will be a glowning Tel Aviv.

That would seem to be the obvious moment juste for Obama publicly to recite the Shehada and announce that he is, and has always been, a proud and militant Moslem.
