Clinton Expresses 'Remorse' For His Role in Impeachment, But No Apologies for Kenneth Starr

Former President Bill Clinton acknowledged “remorse” for his role in the events that led to his impeachment and acquittal Wednesday, even as he renewed his attacks on his old nemesis, former independent counsel Kenneth Starr.

Former President Bill Clinton acknowledged “remorse” for his role in the events that led to his impeachment and acquittal Wednesday, even as he renewed his attacks on his old nemesis, former independent counsel Kenneth Starr.

“I expressed my remorse at the time,” the former president told a Manhattan audience during a childhood obesity event Wednesday afternoon. “And my remorse does not have anything to do with whether what was done was legal or constitutional.”

Rather, Clinton went on to decry the alleged excesses of the independent counsel’s office that investigated him on a broad array of allegations, ranging from purported improprieties in Arkansas real estate transactions to allegations of perjury relating to his sexual indiscretions.

“No serious, objective observer doubts that there was rampant, flagrant abuse of power” in those probes, Clinton said, adding that “a lot of the people who should have been commenting on it were stunningly silent.”

“I expressed my remorse at the time,” the former president told a Manhattan audience during a childhood obesity event Wednesday afternoon.

Let me put this as delicately as I can Bill:

Starr was right...and you suck.

For a full year from when Janet Reno asked Starr to take on the Lewinsky business until the impeachment, there was relentless character assassination by Clinton and his lackeys in the government and the media. It worked. Clinton skated for worse offenses than Nixon's--Nixon never committed perjury. Of course Clinton will never show any remorse towards Starr.

There's a line in Tacitus about it being human nature to hate the one you have injured.

Ya, people are not willing to through themselves on the sward anymore cause Clinton has no real political power and beside that, he’s a flagrant cad. Who but a cad would jump to his defense.

I have a feeling Bubba is jealous of Starr’s new job - just the thought of a running the show with thousands of young coeds on the premises must drive the old boy batty.

I saw Kenneth Starr on the cable broadcast arguing for the Proposition 8 backers in front of the California Supreme Court. He was simply amazing. Pleasant, professional, erudite and slow to take umbrage, Mr Starr was the epitome of what an attorney should strive for. I would love to have him in my corner if the need should ever arise. And I hate attorneys.

I believe every democrat voted for at least one article of impeachment; yeah billy, everyone else is wrong; you, of course, are right.

"Yeah, I will always have an asterisk after my name, but I hope I'll have two asterisks: one is 'they impeached him,' and the other is 'He stood up to them and beat them. And he beat them like a yard dog.' "

Willie sure don't like dawgs, do he? Makes me wonder what really happened to ol' Buddy.

Bubba BS. Whats a special prosecutor supposed to do when it pops up that somebody just flatly lied under oath in separate matter? Bubba’s dumb*ss lawyer, Bennett?, should have never deigned to answer the dumb*ss Paula Jones lawsuit in the first place. But once he did, Bubba had to play by the rules.

And the really bad stuff was the thefts from the White House, the pardons, the misuse of the IRS and something else, I forget.

parsy, who was glad though, the Arkansas lawyers beat the yankee Harvard and Yale boys, though

Ummmm....so if there was flagrant abuse of power, why didn’t Reno get rid of the prosecutors, Bubba?

Ken Star was his best ally by not going after treasonous issues like missile secrets to RED China for campaign donations.

How's that able to target multiple Liberal US Cities with one MERV working for you all? Thank Clinton and Gore.

That’s what I remember too. Clinton lackeys in the MSM joked about what a sex machine he was, and asked why anyone would waste time on bj’s in the oval office. What I never heard in the MSM was the fact that the chief executive of the US government committed perjury in a sexual harassment lawsuit to cover his own a**. KMA, Bill....

Didn't Buddy get killed at the Chappaqua residence by running into traffic?
