I still get a dull sense in the pit of my stomach as I remember voting for him. Horrible.

What was the alternative? I'd gladly vote for McCain again if it would stop the socialist incompetent fool we have in the White House now who warns the enemy in Afghanistan when we're coming as is happening in the current "offensive" and ties our troops hands, not allowing them to fire on the Taliban unless they're fired upon, allowing Taliban guerillas to escape if they drop their guns and flee...bo to mention all the domestic and foreign policy f ups this dope Obama is guilty of.

That said, I do like all the damage having Obama in the White House is doing to the Dems. and how it's revived the GOP's political fortunes in relatively short order. One almost has to say they're glad Obama won and McCain lost, because we'd never have made this kind of comeback had McCain, or any Republican, won the White House in 2008. That said, we're better off as a PARTY having Obama in the White House---much, much worse off as a country. So it's a tough call. Maybe in the long run we have to suffer some damage as a country to get us back to sane leadership. Who knows?

He said he appreciates Obama for his straightforwardness: "I think his ideology is un-American, but he's one of the more honest politicians. At least he told us what he wanted to do."

I can see how he would think that. He met Obama during the socialist's only moment of honesty in the past decade.

whining bullshit now just confirms that even heroes have feet of clay.

Joe Plumbs spoke up to the Zero--- bold and gutsy? Yes, but not a hero--- he may have put his pipes on the line but our soldiers, firefighters, etc...put their lives on the line--they are the real heroes!

Maybe he and the Ditch Witch can get together and cry with Chavez. Grow up Joe, lots of people are having government fun since they questioned their congress critters or the man child in Washington.
McCain used a lot of people and for that he really needs to be put where he can’t do more harm, but to give any credibility to Obama only hurts your own.

This is a funny thread... Joe the Plumber is a hero to Freepers one day and then when it’s all over, he’s a jerk... LOL..

You gotta love Free Republic... :-)

Don’t think he’s one way or the other. I just know when forces are aligned against you, you can start to think differently. If he works hard and isn’t a burden on society, I think that’s good. If he thinks something he did got misused politically, I guess that’s his view. For me? His view one way or the other doesn’t change how I feel how screwed up this country is. Nor does it change what I think needs to be done. In the end, he’s just as much on the trash heap as John McCain is.

I agree. That pit-of-the-stomach feeling was caused by "this is the best we have to offer to turn the country around?"

At the time, maybe it was the best. But still didn't give me much hope. Still wouldn't.

I'm still wondering where the leadership is. I knew it when I saw it -- when Reagan fired the air traffic controllers. I was flying on business a lot at the time, and the world didn't end. Agree or not with the action, it was leadership.

They had Joe at several McCain rallys that is what he is talking about they used Sara poorly as well. The McCain team stole defeat from the jaws of victory.

Don't know if he is a jerk now or not but the two propositions are not mutually exclusive. He could have been right then and wrong now. IOW's your logic is faulty.

No, when he becomes a whiny little girl and an Obama suck-up, which apparently he has, then he's a jerk. He sure didn't seem to mind the spotlight back in 2008. I didn't see him turning down many interviews.

From one extreme to the other. That’s what happens when you’re on any political site that’s way off from the center. I don’t care for it, but that’s how it is.

In a sense I think he’s right too! He’s saying hussein told us what he’d do, and has mostly done it.. Unamerican, horrible things.

So, McCain ruined his life? Hmmm, Joe, is that why you became a household name and able to speak at many events, publish a book, and use your name to earn a living?

Sounds like biting the hand that feeds ya there bro. Take a hike and get on the obama and his truthfulness campaign.

He is coming unhinged. It wasn’t McCain who messed up his life, it was the DEMS and the MSM who went after him. He needs to buy a clue.

The notion that Barack Obama is honest is one held only by left wing losers and the mentally ill one would think.

They had Joe at several McCain rallys that is what he is talking about they used Sara poorly as well.

He could have said no thanks to the request to be at McCain rallies. What did he expect McCain to do for him, make him Secretary of State if he won or get him an executive position at Budweiser if he lost? Presumably Joe thought he was helping his country when he campaigned for McCain. That's why most of us voted for McCain, not because we were in love with McCain, but to save the country from the two bit socialist Chicago tinpot. That should have been its own reward.

Not sure what Joe expected---to be McCain's pen pal after it was all over? He really didn't get that he was being used for political purposes? "I'm shocked! Shocked I tell you to find politics going on in a political campaign!"

You were saying ...

IOW's your logic is faulty.

There was no "logic" used or applied... merelly "observation"... :-)

I wasn't venturing into the "waters of explanation" just laughing about the "observation" and it is funny... LOL...
