The military is not the place for social experimentation. Especially in wartime. I would just say this is a dangerous argument since it was used to say why intigration of the armed forces was a bad idea.

No, race is inherited and unchangeable. Homosexuality is behavior and is acquired.

Being born black is not under anyone’s control, it is unchangeable, and it is values neutral.
Homosexuality is a chosen act, disgusting, immoral, filthy, and people who engage is such acts are notorious for other criminal behavior. Homosexuals do not belong in the military.

The US armed forces officially began integrating in 1948, when Jim Crow still ruled much of the country. In that case, it really was a social experiment--the military was on the cutting edge, and the rest of society followed.
DADT is a different case. Society has largely made up its mind, and now the military is rushing (or being pushed) to catch up. (I'm using military to refer to the institution; the individual members are largely apathetic to sexual orientation AFAICT.)

Integration of the armed forces was not so much a social experiment, but a natural next step when World War II and the need for manpower made it a necessity and showed black units functioned just as well and sometimes better (Tuskegee Airmen) than just white ones.
Do you hear anyone from the Gay lobby proposing a Gay unit to prove a similar point? You don't and you won't because they aren't after equal rights, they are after "special" rights. And "special" rights do not make good for unit cohesion.

integration?
the armed forces always had blacks they just did mostly support stuff and even today statistically they still do that disproportionately in a volunteer army
