Sarah Palin could not have had a friendlier crowd than the one she spoke to at the Tea Party Convention at Opryland Saturday night. But friendly confines or not, she delivered the goods for the controversial $100,000 speakers fee she earned -- at least for the TV audience watching at home.
First of all, the fact that four cable channels (CNN, MSNBC, Fox and C-SPAN) gave her live coverage is a victory and testament to her power in and of itself. In that respect, she was a winner before she ever said a word.
But the words she did say in a 45-minute speech surely resonated beyond the hotel ballroom, particularly the words that focused frustration and anger against what she successfully painted as an arrogant, ineffectual and highly partisan Obama administration.

prediction: after 2 more years of Obama Andrew Sullivan will endorse Palin.
(((PING)))
Still, he couldn’t resist the “controversial” $100,000 fee. Unlike Bill Clinton’s or Obama’s to come or Hillary’s to come, which will be fully “protroversial.”
On the other hand, you’re right. He was quite objective.
Brugmansian posted a link to this column on the LIVE thread last night and we both wrote a brief note of appreciation to the writer.
EARNED ... but .... DIDN'T KEEP ... wonder why he left that out?
No teleprompter either. ;-)

This coverage in and of itself is MAJOR! Sarah has amazing power and the cool thing is she is representing conservative ideals and fighting back more than successfully against the liberal fascists that are ruining our country. Plus she is just beautiful to look at and endearing in her feisty independence.
She is fantastic! Go Sarah GO! God bless her and her family. I pray for her now more than ever and after Wallace interview today for the first time really see her as the President of the United States. I had not felt this way until last night and it was solidified today. President Palin. Watch out world.
Yes, go Sarah Go! Hope and changey!!!
“this guy has had a severe case of Palin Derangement Syndrome since August 2008. I wonder what happened.”
Sometimes, no one knows when, no one knows why, a truth penetrates the shielding around a leftist’s consciousness. Best case, he then recovers, like David Horowitz. Worst case, his friends and associates bullyrag him back into his life of self-censorship.
According to Alan Bloom in “The Closing of the American Mind,” this is the worst of the three forms of tyranny: the oppressed is convinced to become his own jailer.
And you gotta wonder why so many people on this board are against her and are so dismissive of her efforts and her drawing power. Didn't these same people complain about Pres. Bush not defending his record against the daily attacks in the press? If she decides to run, I will support her 100 percent.
Two more years!!! After two more years of 0 there will not be much left of this country. He can continue writing enough ‘execitive orders’ to destroy it.
She nailed it for sure. The truth is hard to take when you are the one who is lying. Go Sarah.
Sometimes the nay sayers can become the strongest fans and voices for the candidate because they truly believe (not just going along to get along) and they understand the other side as well. In time Sarah will define why she is Sarah. This winning over in time is purely her way. It is the independents that we need to go forward. Give 'em time and space to make their own decisions. They bring an important way of selecting that will strengthen Sarah as a future presidential candidate.
But now, she's now as polished a speaker as anybody out there and that includes Obama. Over the next year or so, that Fox gig, all those speaking engagements and all the campaign appearances we are about to see (for 2010 candidates), she is going to be very, very good.
In fact, the Fox gig is a stroke of genius as it's going to ensure that she is battle-hardened veteran of the media when it's time for her to hit the campaign trail again. Never again will the Katie Courics of the world be able to intimidate her.
My thinking is that the 2012 nomination is hers to lose.
Remember the Plain Dealer breaking the Ellie Light story? The paper was amazed at the hits it got on its webpage. Over half a million. Most ever. It has to wake up publishers and editors when they see if they are at least fair to conservatives and don't hide stories which embarrass the left, it will help their bottom lines (which are in dire shape).
What is all the garbage in those comments about notes on her hand?
