I thought of killing myself, says climate scandal professor Phil Jones

THE scientist at the centre of the climategate email scandal has revealed that he was so traumatised by the global backlash against him that he contemplated suicide.
Professor Phil Jones said in an exclusive interview with The Sunday Times that he had thought about killing himself several times. He acknowledged similarities to Dr David Kelly, the scientist who committed suicide after being exposed as the source for a BBC report that alleged the government had sexed up evidence to justify the invasion of Iraq.
In emails that were hacked into and seized upon by global-warming sceptics before the Copenhagen climate summit in December, Jones appeared to call upon his colleagues to destroy scientific data rather than release it to people intent on discrediting their work monitoring climate change.
Jones, 57, said he was unprepared for the scandal: I am just a scientist. I have no training in PR or dealing with crises.

The poor guy! I am sure he feels the pain of the people starving in third world countries who have starving babies because they can't afford to pay twice as much for food because of the "green" policies he has misled politicians into legislating. This nonsense kills vulnerable people. Fortunately he is a "scientist"; I am sure he has the ability to find a clean, green, and painless way to do it. But actually in my line of work the ones who actually do kill themselves don't seem to brag alot about their plans ahead of time. I think he is just hoping people will let him off because he has suffered so much already.

he had thought about killing himself several times. Curious. I always thought once would suffice.

It sounds like he can’t even kill himself without massive error.

I always say that a man will die before changing his “world view”. Seems like Phil was facing that choice.
And, I’ll bet that rather than admit he was wrong and that all of his “science” was agenda driven....he doubles down on the Global warming threat.

Jones appeared to call upon his colleagues to destroy scientific data rather than release it to people intent on discrediting their work monitoring climate change. And oddly enough that is exactly what happened.

Yeah... only because he was discovered and "outed" -- and not because he thought it was wrong. He was just sorry he got caught and that the lie that he perpetrated was discovered, so they couldn't keep perpetuating it.
That's what he was sorry about... not being able to continue the lie...

Wouldn’t some use of the “hemp” plant be more in line with the ecocommies?

Professor Phil Jones said in an exclusive interview with The Sunday Times that he had thought about killing himself several times. No need to do that Dr. Jones.
Just confess your crimes and get on with your life.
It is said that confession is good for the soul. Cleans your soul and be free.

That is when the BBC invented a fake source to begin with.

I’ve thought of killing myself, my wife and kids have no doubt thought the same (especially living with me, LOL). I suspect EVERYONE thinks about it at times. But the vast majority of us never act on it.
So why should we care if this clown has also thought about killing himself? Let him do it, and then I’ll respect his feelings.
