The singers Bono and Bob Geldof have incurred the wrath of Brian Johnson, a fellow rock star and frontman of AC/DC, over their celebrity activism.
Johnson, the gravel-voiced British singer of Australias biggest rock band, has joined a growing group of critics of Geldof and the U2 singer over their very public charity work, saying they should stop lecturing audiences about charity work and instead do their good deeds in private.
I do it myself, I dont tell everybody Im doing it, Johnson, 62, told Melbournes Herald Sun newspaper.
I dont tell everybody they should give money they cant afford it. When I was a working man I didnt want to go to a concert for some bastard to talk down to me that I should be thinking of some kid in Africa.

Bravo and Amen!
"Be careful not to do your 'acts of righteousness' before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. "So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
Matthew 6: 1-4
I think Brian Johnson just shook Bono and Geldof all night long...and the AC/DC frontman is right....and finally someone is saying what many want to say
Wonder when the ultra-liberal rock illuminati start attacking Johnson for his comments....and try to ban AC/DC sales and concerts....
Someone please forward this article to former Senator and Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, who rushed to “help” in Haiti (with much media fanfare and attention) just to get some positive publicity after he finally confessed to fathering a love-child while cheating on his “dying, cancer-striken” wife.
It is so much better to do little in private than to do much in the spotlight.
THUNDERSTRUCK!!!!!!!
Yep, he and Sting are always telling people what to do while pretending to act like they are so enlightened.
January 1985, Providence, RI. One of the best, and the most energetic show I’ve ever seen. Angus is insane!
Brian Johnson is 62?
That makes me feel old.
Way to go Brian !!!
Bump for Later
That's the thing that stood out to me. I thought I had misread it at first.
Geez Louise, it seems like only a short time ago, driving my Mustang II with Back in Black blasting from the speakers and not a care in the world (except Donna, but I won't go there).
That was 1980 and I was 20 years-old. Now, he's 62 and I'm ...... never mind.
Error 404? Did Bono/Sting have TimesOnline retract?
Rock and Roll!
no, it’s you.
STIFF UPPER LIP BUMP!
