Should be quite a “photo-op” indeed.
From what i know of THune i like him
A RINO raising funds for a Conservative. Awesome.
Another check mark against John Thune.
Romney has no chance of being the Republican nominee in 2012. If he couldn’t beat a very weak field of candidates in 2008 (McCain, Rudy, Thompson, etc.) he won’t be able to beat a much stronger crop in 2012.
Romney would make a good Treasury Secretary though.
Interesting that South Dakota Democrats have not yet fielded a Senate candidate. Thune is well liked here in South Dakota and I cannot imagine any Democrat candidate who would seriously challenge him in the general election.
What is his stand on the Second Amendment?
He looks like he has a high brain case - must be smart. The last few Presidents were - well, you know.
Just checked out Thune. Forgot about the Thune Amendment.
He looks great:

As for Romney - less than happy with him. He does have bucks, is photogenic, waffles on his philosphies and is well spoken. Still, I can think of a lot of others I would rather see in the Oval Office.
I’m having a difficult time not being snarky. Consider that Senator Thune was able to divest tommy, the tax dodger, two tongues of his senate seat, you might give some thought to the dem/republican ratio in the Senate without him, and I’m quite sure he doesn’t agree with the screaming minority, who venomously appose Mr Romney. Times change and people change, despite the agonized screams of those who stand in judgment of their fellow man.
PS, We got big problems in this country and plenty of people to judge without eating our own, especially Senator Thune.
I supported Senator Thune in both runs for the Senate, as I think you know.
But, since then I’ve come to believe that we as a movement and a nation need to take a much harder line, especially on the defense of innocent human life. John’s rape and incest exceptions are unconstitutional, illogical, and immoral, and so I won’t be supporting him any longer, unless he recants. It’s really that simple. But it isn’t just Thune. I’m taking that position consistently concerning all candidates.
And I put a big check mark next to anyone who plays ball with Romney. I think he’s a lying liberal and the biggest phony in American politics today. I think he’s dangerous.
Maybe the stance of one activist won’t matter in the least. But that’s what my conscience dictates and I’m willing to leave the results of that decision in God’s capable hands.
Ya know, I find it hard to get upset that Romney is helping raise funds for GOP candidates as long as he isn’t trying to use it to bootstrap a further candidacy of his own. Perhaps this is his best function for the party.
STAY OFF OF MY THREADS.

Come back to DU and serve Romney here."
Romney is a leveraged buy-out guy, that's how he made his fortune. And he's been utilizing those skills throughout the GOP universe for quite some time. He and his close allies have been busy buying up anyone and everyone who can be bought. Do you think he's been doing that out of altruism?
Romney robbed those people he evicted of their health
insurance — which the bastard dumped on taxpayers
as RomneyCARE.
