Rules Christianity out, I don’t believe Jesus gives us the option of having a “private” “spirituality.”

Notice that they said “spirituality” instead of “Christianity”. That means he believes in and makes his decisions based on the existance of the supernatural, but not on the teachings of Christ.

He said “[Mathew 28]19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”

That doesn’t say “believe in me but keep it to yourself”.

However, if you ever talk to a “liberal Christian” (oxymoron), they’ll tell you just that - that they are Christians, but they keep it to themselves.

James 4:4 You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.

“Liberalism” is nothing but “worldliism” (nice word, eh?).

2004 Interview: Obama Talks about Jesus, Heaven and Sin June 3, 2008 (CBN Posted on Tuesday, October 21, 2008)

(GG is God Girl aka Cathleen Falsani) GG: Who’s Jesus to you?

OBAMA: Right. Jesus is a historical figure for me, and he’s also a bridge between God and man, in the Christian faith, and one that I think is powerful precisely because he serves as that means of us reaching something higher. And he’s also a wonderful teacher. I think it’s important for all of us, of whatever faith, to have teachers in the flesh and also teachers in history.

(excerpt)

GG: What is sin?

OBAMA: Being out of alignment with my values.

Indeed. From the Cross, Jesus said that he would praise God in the company of his brethren. Paul tells us not to be ashamed to call out to our brothers and sisters. Mr. Obama’s silence is deafening. As I teach my sons, one should be ashamed to hear the words “I didn’t know you were a Christian.”
