A liberal must have come up with this ludicrous idea.

Once the Secret Srvice and the FBI use it, then I'll consider it.

So now they’ll require watches be kept locked up with hand guards.

It’s not that it’s not a good idea but, yes but. Here’s another good idea, leave me alone.

Oh good.

So now if any one of several weak links (the watch, batteries, electronics in the gun) fail, you're dead.

Oh and then we can have little scheduling books for maintenance and keeping tabs on batteries (gun and watch) in our vehicle guns, safe guns, dresser guns etc.

This is a great idea.

Horsepucky!
Hollywood came up with it. I saw it on Lost in Space where the weapon had to be held by the known user.

Next thing you know flying saucers will be landing with aliens claiming they invented space travel.

next thing you know someone will develop a biometrics system in the handle of the pistol itself.it can be programed to only activate for the owner. if it recognizes your prints you fire the weapon, if it does not recognize your prints you then have a glorified and expensive hammer.

And of course there is NO system for disarming these guns remotely from a central database.

Naaah, that would NEVER happen.

Great, just great. :<(

I suppose they expect me to trade in a perfectly good Sun Dial for one of those watches.
