The famous Polish dissident and Nobel Peace Prize winner Lech Walesa will campaign in Illinois on Friday on behalf of a Republican candidate for governor.
Walesa, the co-founder of the Polish trade union Solidarity, which contributed to the fall of communism in Poland, will hit the campaign trail on behalf of Adam Andrzejewski, an Illinois businessman running for the Republican gubernatorial nomination in the state.
Walesa will speak at a luncheon, as well as help with a fundraiser, and speak to media during a barnstorming of northern Illinois on Friday said Brian McDaniel, a spokesman for Andrzejewski.

Go Adam!
Very good move on Adam’s part.
Still voting for Proft as Governor.
Kudos for getting Lech’s okay, though. “Solidarity, brother.” (Stolen from “Life of Brian”)
The reason this is so huge is the extremely high population of ethnic Poles in the state. Walesa will attract their votes.
Old Lech knows a thing or two about the evils of communism!
And this is why we get RINOs.
I'm voting Adam, but rest assured if I feel we'll get a RINO as the nominee, I'll switch to the alternative with the most support.
Profit has the endorsement of Steve Rauschenberger, the most stand-up guy in Illinois politics. Also, he hits on all the issues just right.
And nothing about Illinois. When was the last time he even set foot in Illinois??
I have a problem with Conservatives splitting their votes. At the very least, I think we need to universally adopt a pledge not to vote for people who poll in the single-digits in primary polls.
If Proft were at 16%, I’d consider a switch. I’m even considering a switch now, depending on the last-minute polls. I like Adam, but rest assured I’ll switch if it looks like Dillard might win and there’s an alternative I can give an extra vote to.
How many times must we split the Conservative vote and get a RINO, then sit home in November? I like Proft, but he’s not going to win, and he probably won’t get into double-digits.
