I’d convict him. I’d be a hypocrite if I claimed to be pro-life but yet condoned cold-blooded murder when it suited me.

I am 100% pro life, and if it were law (abortion were illigal and Doctors who performed them could be prosecuted): I would, however if I were on the Jury this guy would be guilty, we CAN NOT stand up for life, and then say ‘the ends justify the means’ and that (Dr -I say that loosly) Tiller’s life is worth less than the Tens of Thousands of Babies he murdered while alive!~ Just my 2, J.S.

Unfortunately “The sumbitch had it coming” defense doesn’t work very well.

This guy committed murder and should be punished for it. But I have real difficulty saying his action wasn’t justifiable. I’d put him in the same category of someone who took out a death camp commandant.

This isn’t the way to stop abortion. We can’t descend into moral relativism and situational ethics.
The sonograms were a boon to OUR side, not the prochoicers’.
They’re losing the battle to keep babies inhuman blobs of tissue.

I didn't know there was any other kind.
Is there a blood test available? A questionnaire? A psychological evaluation?
I guess I need to get out into the real world a little more often...

How about a hypothetical? Would a soon-to-be father be justified in shooting an abortion doctor to prevent the abortion of his own child? The doctor is ready to go, the woman has consented, and the police have just arrived to arrest the father; he has one chance to save his unborn baby, and that is to shoot the doctor in defense of his child.

Lots of Puritanical sounding appeals to "law" as the final authority here. But what is law? Law is meant to serve life, not vice versa.
That requires an informed conscience, which doesn't come cheap. It certainly isn't as cheap as all the talk about "law" being bandied about in pitiful naivete on this thread.

The jury deliberated for just 37 minutes before finding Scott Roeder, 51, of Kansas City, Mo., guilty of premeditated, first-degree murder in the May 31 shooting death. Seems as though the jury was not impressed with the discussion on this thread. :-)
