Reich says stuff like this all the time. The truth means nothing to the man. When called on his lies, he just shrugs and says, "That's how I remember it."

“The truth means nothing to the man.”
I would phrase it, “The truth means nothing to the biological male.”
If that’s a man, I’m turning in my man cards.

To lie one needs to have a sufficient regard for the truth to know it and say the opposite for the purpose of deception. I don't think Reich lies, I think he bullsh*ts--says whatever comes to mind as expedient without regard for its truth or falsity. I cannot recall whether Frankfurt in his charming little book On Bullsh*t comes down in favor of the proposition that bullsh*t is a greater enemy of truth than lying or merely considers the question, but there is certainly an argument to be made that what Reich is doing is worse than lying.

Reich says stuff like this all the time. The truth means nothing to the man. When called on his lies, he just shrugs and says, "That's how I remember it."Both the liar and the honest man must have regard for truth, the former to subvert it and the latter to propagate it. Bullshit, by contrast, is fundamentally unconcerned with truth or falsehood, but only with appearance, effect and persuasion, however transitory. Yuri Luzhkov was not accusing the Moscow weather forecasters of lying, or yet of trying to predict the weather and honestly failing; he was accusing them of not caring about the true weather. The essence of bullshit is getting away with it, with persuading listeners or readers of a sincerity that is, by definition, phoney. The bullshit artist simply does not care about truth: He pays no attention to it at all, writes Professor Frankfurt. By virtue of this, bullshit is a greater enemy of truth than lies are. *
