Top Democrats: We Will Push Ahead With Health Care
New York Times ^ | January 23, 2010

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama and top congressional Democrats insist they will push ahead with efforts to overhaul health care, though they aren't explaining how they will proceed in that uphill fight.

The president acknowledged Friday that the effort ran into a ''bit of a buzz saw'' of opposition. And a leading member of his party suggested Congress slow it down on health care, a sign of eroding political will in the wake of Tuesday's Republican election upset in Massachusetts.

“So we ran into a bit of a buzzsaw, but ya know, umm, the ‘Merican people need this and just don’t realize it yet. So, um, we’re gonna make sure, and continue to work hard and get the word out to them again and again, that they finally ‘get it’. See, we know what they want and need, even if they don’t see it yet...” - President Barack Obama (translation mine)

Think they'll just soften it up a little to get RINOs onboard then, after it's passed, they'll put what they want into it.

Old news. The Big Win was indeed a wakeup call for the Congressional Dims, whether Obama and is advisers have gotten it or not. There’s no stomach left among the Congressional Dims for Obamacare or Obama-anything else at this point. The Dims are running for the hills. Obama has now conclusively demonstrated he is poison 100% of the time at election time, supporting three Dims in a row who each lost with Obama’s support. Dodd said take a break on Obamacare. Already Congressional Dims are talking on Fox about extending the Bush tax cuts as one way to keep from further wrecking the economy.

Multiple Dims, including New York’s Bloomberg have harshly criticized Obama in the last two days regarding his ill-advised and unwarranted attacks on the banks. Billionaires Mort Zucker and Warren Buffet have lambasted Obama in the last two days. Everyone saw what opening his big yap attacking banks did to the stock market yesterday and today. Karl Rove said tonight that the Pubs may now be able to pick up 8 Senate seats and that 150 Dim seats are in play this November.

Obama’s presidency is over for all practical purposes. He’ll never win another significant vote in Congress. The main thing we need to do at this point is focus on nominating and electing conservative Pubs.

Kind of like the Germans refusing to retreat from Stalingrad even after the Soviets encircled them.

hi ho hi ho

it's off the cliff we go.

If nothing else was learned in the Ted Kennedy seat take down by the tea partyers, it's there is no safe seat, nowhere.

Democrats have been blinded by their near dead parrot media.

Excellent analysis, catnipman. I hope it bears out.

Wonder if Tin Ear Syndrome is covered in ObamaCare?
Apparently, Pelosi-Reid-Zero need a little stronger message.

I’m anxious to see Obama’s polls this weekend. I think we’re poised to get back into the 20s.

The only thing that saved him was the Haiti earthquake, and never the guy to waste an opportunity to take advantage of a photo up...he jumped on it.

I’m still surprised that he hasn’t flown down there yet...I guess he’s playing that card when he needs to.

Funny about this guy. Over 400 speeches since President, almost all on TV. And the guy has done, as they parodied on SNL, nada. He’s a constant campaigner and talker.

It makes sense when you realize that he’s done nothing even before. He’s never crafted a piece of meaningful legislation, so to no surprise nothing has come out of the white house. He just hands over the exec branch to tweedle dee and tweedle dum, pelosi and reid.

Imo rats have major problems in Congress, not in Senate. The have bought enough Rinos in the latter.

We need to put out the word that Obama is the lead Political Zombie. The walking dead in search of “BRAINS!” You can run them over with an old truck in Massachusetts and they will still continue their crawl over the corpses of their constituents and fellow democrats.

BRAINS....MUST HAVE BRAINS......

0bamakazi’s.

I bet the Japanese had the same sort of conversations just before they boarded their bomb-laden airplane.

These cretins are literally defining a new word where they are using the ultimate form of the cliche “by any means necessary” to achieve their AIM - that is the sacrifice of their political lives in order to enact their agenda.

These people clearly are hard and fast FANATICS.

GREAT NEWS!!!

THe Democrat leadership has demonstrated they lack the intellect of a gnat!

I WANT them to continue on the same suicidal course they were involved with which created the New Jersey, Virginia and Massachusetts victories!!!

They are just assuming and presumptuous that it is only going to cost them their political lives. The mood of the American people is ugly (i.e. France 1788) and the cost is going to be much higher. Many of the deals that are being made are as bad as or if not worse than what Duke Cunningham of CA did and he is doing 7 years. Re-election is going to be the least of their worries if they press forward.

Sorry, I meant to say ‘Senate seats’ ... Where the real power is.

Yes the gerrymandering has done this all over the nation ... Stolen the people’s seats and given them to undeserving people. Maybe it’s time to go after Gerrymandering? That is nothing more than dividing up the country. And why should this be used to carve up the country the way it does?

But it is far harder to do it with a Senate seat ...
