The Colt 1911 has a flawless pedigree.

It was designed specifically to stop muslims.

They missed the USPc .40 that rides my right hip.

I’d take the .45 version in it’s place, though.

Kinda hard to. Top ten in sales? Stopping power? Looks? Top ten the author would like to purchase?

Of course I wouldn’t mind owning any of the handguns on the list.

Agree on the Colt. I would have a hard time coming up with a list for the other 9. Would probably put the Colt Python .357 at 2. Maybe S&W Model 29 next.

I have my Ruger SR9, the company makes handguns that will fire almost anything you feed it.

Sales? Performance? Opinion? Any idea as to the criteria?

I own #3 & #4...but #1, #5 & #7 are all on the “will have” list.

Any such list which lacked the Browning HiPower would be worthless.

But I see it in there at No. 10 ... and while I would dispute that as too low a ranking, that's mere nitpicking.

Would probably put the Colt Python .357 at 2.

Definitely. The 1911 ACP at No. 1 and the Python .357 at No. 2.

No list of handguns is complete without the Luger. I've been telling that to friends for years. No collection should be considered complete without atleast one Luger.

Smith and Wesson Models 19 and 29 belong on there IMO.

I completely disagree with No. 1 ... that should be the Colt model 1873 "Single Action Army".

Obviously the 1911 is the gold standard, but I'm delighted to see the Smith and Wesson M&P at #3. I bought one last year, compact model in .40 cal. It is really sweet, easy to conceal and accurate. It has displaced my Rossi .357 Mag as my favorite concealed carry weapon.
