I am imagining he didn’t like the characterization, though she is only saying what happened: she is not calling him any names in the book. But he set her up to fail. Am about finished with Sarah's book. She comes across gracious.

Still would like to know who "headquarters" was, but McCain sure as hell didn't seem to stop any of the crap that went down upon Sarah. That makes him at worst, weak and ineffective.

I, too, read Palin’s book. And while she was much too kind in my estimation I kept reminding myself that she is a determined woman with a target in mind and saves her shots for important targets.

I am convinced that Schmidt and others in the McCain campaign were firmly in the bag for Obama, either that or they are the most incompetent political “handlers” the world has ever seen. So there's the choice, were they stupid incompetents or Democrat operatives...inquiring minds want to know.

Just finished her book and LOVED it. Schmidt was PO'd because Sarah has a mind of her own. How dare she ignore him and use her own mind.

You may have a point - Schmidt wanted McCain to lose the election. He hated Sarah from day one - she intimidated him and he did what he could to undermine her and in turn undermined the entire campaign.

I have ZERO respect for McCain as he could come out and put an end to all of this garbage.
