A leading spokesman for the Roman Catholic Church has sounded the alarm against the threat of Islam to Christianity and the Western world.

Cardinal Miloslav Vik, the outgoing Prague Archbishop, issued this warning, “Europe has denied its Christian roots from which it has risen and which could give it the strength to fend off the danger that it will be conquered by Muslims — which is actually happening.”

The Cardinal’s position stands in sharp opposition to recent remarks by Pope Benedict XVI, who professed his “deep respect for Islam” and “the virtues proclaimed by Islam.”

On his website www.kardinal.cz Cardinal Vik describes Islam as a barbaric force that threatens to obliterate the remains of Christendom.

“If Europe doesn’t change its relation to its own roots, it will be Islamized,” the 77-year-old cardinal writes. He blames immigration and Muslims’ high birth rate for helping Muslims to “easily fill the vacant space created as Europeans systematically empty the Christian content of their lives.”

Our church is not the same and never will be. Catholicism as we knew it growing up no longer exists out there. Just listen to the Catholic channel on Sirius radio... liberal fantasy. A Monsignor from Boston today played John Lennon’s Imagine as his “peace” theme song and then interviewed the author of
‘The Limits of Power: The End of American Exceptionalism’ - Andrew Bacevich.
I can feel for Mr. Bacevich for the loss of his son in war, but he is just one more hate-America liberal teaching in our universities. Poisoning the minds of our young.
I listened, hoping Monsignor would have a guest with a differing point of view, to no avail.
I cannot support American Catholic Clergy who have bastardized the truth in the war on terror. Sorry... cannot.
