They are really over -reacting.As Varney was saying on hannitty tonight, if the economy makes any kind of a rebound it will be played by the MSM as Obama’s policies working. The gullible great unwashed will swallow it and their losses will be minimal and tolerable by the left.

“if the economy makes any kind of a rebound it will be played by the MSM as Obama’s policies working. “

I’ve had that thought as well. I don’t see the economy rebounding this year though. Perhaps for 2012 unless they pass crap and trade.

The “good” news is that we are going to get a second dip in the recession the first half of this year and the D’s will get slaughtered in November before any recovery begins in earnest. Obama will be a lame duck by December as it becomes clearly evident that he cannot be reelected.

Just my prediction. I always try to be an optimist.

I agree with your sentiment. However, at a state election level, Colorado is now a swing state. Which means the recently arrived residents of the suburbs and exurbs on the front range are the key demographic to swing over during each election cycle.

In Colorado’s case, even if the country has some improved economic recovery as a whole, this state will not participate since it was overly dependent on RE industries for jobs for the last decade. Ritter sees this as clear as every mirror fogging resident in the state.

The center isn’t holding, and in states like Colorado it’s broken to the right. Hopefully the established Colorado Republican party can get their act together and build a lasting base in the population of new arrivals. Cause as you said, eventually the economy will recover, and the majority will resume the plunder of the treasury through the ballot box.

Maybe there's a scandal brewing. Seems a little early to drop out over polling. I told Terrible Tommy this spring that we needed him in the governor's chair. He was completely noncommittal, but had a big grin on his face. I wonder what he's thinking now? The phone lines among the movers and shakers in Denver are burning tonight.

Maybe there's a scandal brewing.

In fact, there IS a scandal brewing. Ritter got ICE agent Corey Vorhiss fired for whistle-blowing during Ritter's campaign for Governor. Prior to Ritter's run for governor he had been the Denver District Attorney and had been letting illegal immigrant criminals off the hook by reducing their charges (sometimes serious felony charges) to "agricultural trespass." This allowed them to avoid deportation. Vorhiss blew the whistle.

It's a long story, but Stephany Villafuerte, a member of Ritter's campaign staff and former DA staffer under Ritter, was nominated by Obama (at Ritter's behest) to be the next US Attorney General for Colorado. She had to withdraw after it became apparent she used her influence in the DA's office (after leaving it) to illegally finger Vorhiss.

It's a MAJOR scandal, and Ritter and, more important, Democratic higher-ups and advisors to Obama, know that his days are numbered. So they are throwing him under the bus.

And, word around is that Ritter and Villafuerte were having an affair, also.

I was watching both Greta and Hannity and the topic of the dems jumping ship was one of the topics..the assessment is that they know how unpopular this health bill and spending is and they already know the numbers have them all in the garbage heap. I don’t feel one bit sorry for them. They had the chance to vote NO on these issues but nope..they fell right in lock step with their fearless leaders.

Overreacting? They are making these decisions based on their own internal polls. The economy can not recover that quickly. And with the Dems passing Obamacare, taxes will increase and the states will be put further in extremis because 14 to 17 million more people will be added to Medicaid. The states are drowing in debt and so is the federal government. You can only spin things so far.

And what happens if we get hit again with a major terrorist attack? In NYC, during the trials?

“we are going to get a second dip in the recession the first half of this year”

I’d be interested to see how you came to that conclusion.
