Terror Suspect Wasn't Considered Threat

Despite mounting evidence of a sophisticated international plot to bring down a U.S. airliner on Christmas Day, the man charged in the thwarted attack — who was on U.S. officials' radar for years — was never considered a sufficient threat to keep from flying.

The alleged Christmas Day terrorist had been in one of the U.S. government's largest terror databases since November, when his father brought him to the attention of embassy officials in Nigeria.

But Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab came to the attention of intelligence officials months before that, according to a U.S. government official involved in the investigation. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation is ongoing.

Still, none of the information the government had on Abdulmutallab rose to the level of putting him on the official terror watch list or no-fly list. On Christmas Eve, the 23-year-old Nigerian — who later claimed to law enforcement that he was operating on orders from Al Qaeda — was able to carry a concealed explosive device onto a U.S.-bound airplane.

This situation speaks for itself. It also speaks to the competency and priorities of this "administration" and its focus of power and control as opposed to protecting America and what is GOOD for its people.

How is it that we knew every bit of private information about Joe the Plumber in no time at all,but a terrorist deserves extra consideration?

Ted Kennedy was put on the "no-fly" list and yet this known terrorist was allowed on the plane.

I saw the same story on FOX- Obamas’ lackey said that the “procedures for the watch lists” were several years old and they were studying making changes. SO George W. Bush at fault again. Zero and his affirmative action team yet again blame Bush and the media lets him get away with it. If you travel and get caught up in the added security- Blame the real idiot- Obama and his minions that failed to take any action and we almost lost a jumbo jet and more. Sad.

Despite mounting evidence of a sophisticated international plot to “coverup Obama’s incompetence by MSM”. the truth is coming out.

Meanwhile Classic Obama Blame Somebody Else——

In this case the terrorist’s Father gets blamed-—

“””U.S. authorities told The Associated Press that the suspect came to the attention of intelligence officials in November when his father, Alhaji Umaru Mutallab, went to the U.S. Embassy in Abuja, Nigeria, to discuss his concerns about his son’s religious beliefs. One government official said the father did not have any specific information that would put his son on the “no-fly list” or on the list for additional security checks at the airport. Nor was the information sufficient to revoke Abdulmutallab’s visa to visit the United States. It was granted in June 2008 and valid through June 2010.””””

none of the information the government had on Abdulmutallab rose to the level of putting him on the official terror watch list or no-fly list

Which may explain why this "low profile" guy was chosen for this attack.

See what threw the administration off was his graduation picture, such a fine young man, who would have thought? We have before us a reckless bunch of morons who hope each day we don’t get hit hard and the other bunch who does so they can consolidate power through home land security and marshal law.

As we all know – thanks to being told so by successive administrations — Islam is the religion of peace*. Thanks to the actions of one brave passenger — who fully understood that he had nothing to lose — this incident remained a small one.

Thanks to PC and the chronic disease known as “Cranial Anal Inversion Syndrome” among most alleged American “leaders” all the way up to the White Mosque — er — House, this “small” incident — and all like it in the future — will disappear down the Orwellian memory hole.

I suspect the primary cause of the failure to put this guy – and only God knows how many more — on a no-fly list is that the folks down the food chain and on the ground who are SUPPOSED to keep these MUSLIM idiots off commercial flights are severely conflicted. On one hand, they are tasked to keep flying safe. On the other, they’ve all had multiple memos and “sensitivity sessions” stressing that they MUST NOT PROFILE but be especially alert to the feelings of Muslims. Any actions taken against them MUST be fully justified and documented. The vernacular expression dealing with that is “CYA.” And so they do — while the rest of us die or, thanks to the actions of a passenger, have a very close call on approach to Detroit.

Compounding the problem is that this particular miscreant was not only a Muslim but a black guy from Nigeria. And the American president is _________ (fill in the correct color) and, having been born to a Muslim father and raised in a Muslim country, sympathetic to the religion of _________. (fill in the appropriate term).

The response to this near-tragedy? Fatherland Security now keeps passengers in their seats for the last hour of the trip!! Great! I suspect sales of Depends will soon spike. Now these folks will die at 35,000 feet and the wreckage will be strewn over hundreds of square miles making it virtually impossible to determine if it WAS an act of mass murder by (select one) an angry Norwegian, Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, a Muslim nutcase. A few more of these and the air travel industry will be COMPLETELY dead.

By their INACTION and persistence in their denial that we are at war with a determined and dedicated enemy, these alleged “leaders” have 100% guaranteed that the next one will NOT be “small.”
* BTW, “peace” has two definitions:
1. The absence of conflict or war.
2. The ABSENCE or SUPPRESSION OF RESISTANCE TO SOME FORCE, POLICY, IDEOLOGY or POLITICAL SYSTEM, etc. WITH WHICH ONE HAS AN ABIDING DISAGREEMENT WHICH ONE WOULD OTHERWISE ATTEMPT TO DEFEAT TO THE POINT OF TAKING UP ARMS.

He wasn't considered a threat. Most terrorists aren't in this administration. Apparently they give the administration advantage to not waste an opportunity to accomplish what they desire.

These are the people they consider a threat: Troops returning home, right wing "extremists" Napolitano stands by controversial report "Rightwing extremism, " the report said in a footnote on Page 2, goes beyond religious and racial hate groups and extends to "those that are mainly antigovernment, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely." and "It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration," said the report, which also listed gun owners and veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars as potential risks.

Let's at least admit that and outsource TSA to the Israelis. El Al knows how to weed out the pepper from the flyshit.

...rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority....
:::::
Sounds like Hitler talking, doesn’t it? This is exactly what the Washington cabal has done is frantically trying to lock in place — TOTAL DISREGARD FOR THE CONSTITUTIONAL LIMITATIONS ON FEDERAL POWER. The states are the real hope to saving American freedom and it will most likely take amending the Constitution, driven by the states, to restore freedom and a federal government with its original intended limitations on its power.

I thought so. Which system is really working? And it’s troubling how this president responds to threats and assuring the American public.

The amount of time for a response from the Arkansas recruiters’ shooting, Ft Hood shout outs and business as usual before acknowledging the 13 shootings ad 30+ injuries, and now this. Something is wrong.

They didn`t see the threat he posed because they were busy monitoring us conservatives and dropped the ball due to their rank politicization of national defense. We really need to hammer them on this!
