Is Reid afraid of losing his 60 if Scott Brown wins Kennedy's seat?

If Brown wins in Mass., the Second Coming would have occured. This rotten bill is being passed as I write and every Dem should pay for its passage. But, Coakley in Mass. will not because, well, it is Mass.

The election of Republican Brown in massachusetts would be an 9 point earthquake politically and would instantly shut down the Obama agenda and deny the Dems their filibuster proof majority.

For those reasons, it is a miracle to be devoutly wished for.

MA freepers - PLEASE PLAY UP HIS CANDIDACY AND HELP HIM WIN.

“Total dependency, a greater RAT majority built with illegal aliens, and eventually disarmament of the population.”

The liberals are buying votes, promising amnesty to millions of potential liberal voters and stealthily indoctrinating generation after generation to look upon the second amendment as dangerous and firearms as things desired by ignorant, red-necked, bible-thumping morons.

Aided by willing “independents”, they will not only be able to hang on to power for four more years but will put a lock on it for years to come. (The additional help of club-wielding thugs, ACORN-like organizations and election “irreglularities” will also assure they remain in power for a long time; Subversion is the key word.)

IMHO

Unfair to Snowe and Collins - cheap shots.

No, Susan Collins could have kept this monstrosity locked up in committee. She cast the deciding vote to release it to the greater (lesser) Senate.

Any watcher of Washington with a clue knows that once let out to a 60 Dem member Senate, there's no hope of stopping it, or even putting on major limitations. Collins wants the Obamacare to pass, everything going on now is just "Kabuki Theater".

Reid may be afraid of losing his 60 seat majority, but not because of Scott Brown. He will not win the Massachusetts seat.

Ma Freepers and Voters, I never saw such defeatism in my life. I know the odds are quite long for Scott Brown to best Coakley in the Senate runoff being held on January 19th, but giving up before fighting to me signifies the supreme whimp complex of many of the posters on this site. Ten thousand years ago when I was a young dude, a gent by the name of Jim Buckley (brother of william Buckley) ran for the U.S. Senate in the ultra liberal state of New York and won. My wife and I worked on that campaign for Buckley, even though the pundits said he could never win. You folks are fools at best. The climate is right in the country and even in MA to pull a win out for Scott Brown. Just remember, the impact of a Brown victory will change the game of politics here in the USA. Think of the glory of a Pubbie winning the vacated seat of Ted Kennedy and the slap in the face for the chief socialist/communist, America hater Barack Hussein Obama (oh, you say Obama is not a communist, christian hater, then why an ornament on the WH Xmas tree with Chairman Mao’s mug on it). Ma voters of all stripes, get with the program, and work hard, hard, hard for an upset victory for Scott Brown. It will be the most important vote for freedom and liberty you will ever cast!!!!

Good luck to you in Massachusetts. I saw a libertarian is running too and I’m really wondering if his funds are coming from the Democrats. I fear too many independents will be lulled by the libertarian label this time. On the other hand, maybe some of the dumber-than-dirt-Democrats might just vote for the libertarian because he bears the name Kennedy.

You're confusing defeatism with pragmatism.

Where the H@!! are all the "talkers" (Rush, Hannity etc) on this? Don't they get it? This is Hoffman on Steroids, we need the fight!

I just spent some time reading Scott Brown’s web page. They need to do some work. The healthcare debate is all this campaign needs to be about. He needs to hit it hard, and directly. He needs to define himself with this issue. Quite frankly, if he started coming out in this manner, directly and without equivocation he can win. People are mad, but they do not know about this guy.

There is more crap on his web site about collecting coats for the coatless than there is about his position on health insurance reform.

If he acts like the typical MA panty-waste Republican, we might just as well vote for Martha.

In the end, if he comes out against this SINGLE vote, it will be worth any other RINO crap he does for the next few years.

Bumping this comment from 2009 as it is so relevant today.

Back then, nobody gave Scott Brown a chance to win because it was Massachusetts. Everybody wanted to throw up their hands and give up without even fighting for that "Kennedy Senate Seat."

Well guess what? Scott Brown did win and for at least a short time, we had a political earthquake.

Once elected, Scott Brown took a "go along to get along" approach and ended up losing the seat because he was no different than any other Democrat - and that's another lesson right there: A conservative who moves to the squishy middle loses not only his base of support but fails to earn the respect of the Democrats. The end result is that the Democrats will run a real liberal to defeat you.
