BUTTE Former U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and his wife have purchased a 940-acre ranch on the Big Hole River in Montanas Madison County, his spokesman confirmed Thursday.
Mrs. (Joyce) Rumsfeld was born in Montana, she has relatives in the state and the Rumsfelds have always thought very well of the state, spokesman Keith Urbahn told The Montana Standard Thursday. They plan to spend some time out there to enjoy it.
The property south of Twin Bridges includes hayfields, wetlands and river frontage. Urbahn said the Rumsfelds have no plans to develop the property.
He enjoys outdoor sports, and Im sure theyll get out there on the river from time to time and fish it, he said.

Does this mean he can tell the libs to Kiss his Butte?
Hope he can ignore the asshat governor and senator baucus.
Yes. On the Big Hole River.
Maybe he’ll call Chenney to come over from Wyoming, then they’ll invite Baucus and Scweitzer to go hunting with them.
That’d be a hoot.
He has/had a place just outside of Taos, New Mexico, that was picketed constantly during his tenure at DOD. Taos, about 70 miles north of Santa Fe is populated by the same type of moonbats as live in the capital city. Don’t know the current status.
PING to the NM list!
(let me know if you want on or off the list)
I’ve been to Tao, and I saw the frickin hippies in front of his property. I’ll never step foot in that sh*thole town again. The marxists have ruined it.
Wonder if Baucus and Scweitzer are lawyers? They are considered varmints in flyover country.
Wonderful area. Know it well. Best wishes to the Rumsfelds.
Yes. I grew up there and go home on occasion. I can’t believe how many ignoramus liberals are there now. Sadly some of them grew up there. I do not know what has happened but it was as bad as California if not worse. The ‘brainwashed greenies’ especially. Lots of stupid Obama bots too. Lord help Montana from the liberal stupidity and ignorance.

from time to time?....I’d hit it every chance!....Good luck Rummy!
Sure hope so. lol
940 acres in Montana? Lucky son of a gun. What I wouldn’t give to be able to do that...
me too. Wonder if he needs any hands?
Me too.
Good for him!
