Boatloads of money spent, but few jobs

For an obscene price tag, this year's $787 billion federal stimulus has delivered precious little to Jackson County, Michigan or the nation. The public should be skeptical whether the federal government can be trusted to implement a second, smaller stimulus to create jobs.

President Obama last week called on Congress to spend more — as much as $200 billion, by some estimates — to put people to work. The nation's unemployment stands at 10 percent (in Michigan, it's 14.2 percent), and surveys suggest that large companies will continue to shrink their work forces in the coming months.

Of course, wasn't the first stimulus — the optimistically titled American Recovery and Reinvestment Act — supposed to prevent much of this? This federal spending spree has helped the economy some, but not enough considering its size or how it is inflating the federal debt.

Dear President Barak Hussein Obama (mmmm mmmm mmmm),

I will tell you now how you fix the economy. So, pay attention.

To fix the economy, you cut taxes, cut the spending, and eliminate government regulation anywhere you can. History and Ronald Reagan should teach anyone with half the sense that God gave a goose.

Government is not the solution to this problem, it IS the problem. Government spending does not create one daggone bit of wealth for anyone. Government does not create bricks, or wheel barrows, or hot dogs, or one daggone thing that people can actually use. That's why you can't make money for you economy with Government spending.

Yes, Government does some needed things. But, when it comes to creating jobs and getting people engaged in productive enterprise, Government does nothing but get in the way.

If you want to fix the economy, and there are some who aren't sure you do, do this:

. Make the Bush tax cuts permanent . Cut capital gains taxes . Eliminate financial, environmental, and other regulations . Fire Larry Summers (he's incompetent) . Throw the stupid "health care" plan in the trash

Except for number 4, which I think you will be forced to do soon, I doubt you'll do any of these things. And the economy will tank even worse. And you will be out of a job on January 21, 2013.

Repeating: Cut taxes, cut the spending, and eliminate government regulation anywhere you can. THAT is how you fix the economy.

You missed one.

First you have to want to fix the economy.

Unless your letter to the Pres__ent is displayed on a teleprompter, he can't read it.

Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.

If you REALLY want to fix the economy, abolish the IRS and the income tax!

Institute a flat tax or a national sales tax but no more than 15%.

If they cant live on that... F**K EM!!

It is like all the stimulus millions are spent on projects and it employs less 20 people per project.

The only thing worse than spending lots of money is getting nothing for it.

It’s not Obama’s intent to fix the economy. It’s the opposite — break the back of the US. So many people are clueless as to what’s really going on. They may not like it, but they don’t understand that all of this is by design in the name of communism.

The American people have been robbed by thieves that call themselves the US Congress. The law dictates that Thieves be sent to prison where they belong for committing a crime against the American people.

Drain the swamp come 2010 and 2012.
