If she's a "washed-up quitter" and a "loser" why is everyone from Mr. Obama, Gore, Reid and on down putting up so much of a fight to get you to disbelieve her?

Says it all right there, doesn't it?

" Her statement inaccurately suggests that short-term weather fluctuations must be consistent with long-term climate patterns."

Do these libtarsds not know that climate is simply the average of weather over a period of time for a given location? If the weather changes over time, then guess what, so does the climate. Weather drives the climate, not the other way away.

Libtards are morons.

The notion that carbon dioxide is causing a warming trend is still speculative.

In April 1994 – long after scientists had clearly demonstrated the addictive quality and devastating health impacts of cigarette smoking – seven chief executives of major tobacco companies denied the evidence, swearing in a US congressional hearing that nicotine was not addictive.

This isn't an argument that will convince anyone. Other than, perhaps, the low-ranking galley slaves still remaining below decks, who are beginning to notice that a good number of their fellow-rowers have deserted their positions, and the slave-driver who used to call the stroke seems to have taken a powder as well.

Jeez, just in the first three paragraphs Alan Leshner violates every principle the scientific method requires for an idea to be CONSIDERED for evaluation, let alone theory or repeatable proof by proper experimental test. Plus he throws in a straw man credibility test.

Confabulation.

Coincidence proves cause and effect. Not.

Coincidence disproves reversed cause and effect. Not

Demonization.

Ridicule.

Alan Leshner brilliantly deploys the tools of the scientific method.

What a stupid argument. This has nothing to do with anything. This is kind of like starting an article talking about NAZI's.

I don't know how they define "addictive" now days, but back then caffeine and nicotine were not addictive according to the definition at the time.

The big lie about smoking and second hand smoke continues to this day.

I don't think global warning will ever go away. These people will stick to the lie and little by little convince average people and the children that it is true, just like they did with smoking.

We are doomed to be under the control of anti-smoking and global warming brainwashed dictators.

We know from studying ancient Antarctic ice cores...

Those ice-cores, they can be used not only to measure the atmospheric carbon dioxide in ages gone by, but also ancient temperatures. Let's have a look at what they say - once again that fantastic web-site of Anthony Watts, Watts Up With That, tells the story:

Our unprecedented global warming

Phhhhttt.

well .. unless there is a secret planet somewhere I don't know about that all the rich oil people live on that the rest of us don't, I don't see how lying about man made global warming helps them.

On the other hand, it is very much in the interest of global warming proponents to push this, even if it is a lie.

Palin is uber-impressive. And I don’t mean just because of her gams, but her editorial writing has been superb. I write a LOT, and I am impressed.

Uh huh. The same kind of "scientists" who "clearly demonstrated" (through rigged evidence and false numbers) that global warming was real?

No liberal cause has any credibility any more. The whores at East Anglia proved that.

We know from studying ancient Antarctic ice cores...

Why did they have to study ancient Antarctic ice cores? Why didn't they study the ice that made up The Great Lakes?

Oh, yeah. Because that ice melted 90,000 years before the SUV was a gleam in a car designer's eye.

It was advancing and retreating that created The Great Lakes and the water contained within is from thousands of feet of glacial ice that thawed.

Dumbasses.

Show me the raw data. Show me the notebooks. Show me the calculations. There can be no black boxes in real science, no “consensus” in the application of science in public policy.

Serious scientists don’t erase data. They don’t ignore series of numbers that don’t fit the hypothesis and they certainly don’t threaten editors with perishing if they publish the wrong authors.

Like the Boston information posted below, the “sources” in favor of AGW are speculation based on suppositions based on data that is more wishful thinking than empirical. “If” is not data. “will likely” is not evidence. “Discussion papers” are not proof.

It is useful to know that the AAAS is strictly a membership organization--anyone can send in a check for dues and join. They have zero scientific standing, as this moron's unethical diatribe under color of authority makes clear.
