Mary, powerful Virgin, You are the mighty and glorious protector of the Church. You are the marvelous help of Christians. You are awe inspiring as an army in battle array. In the midst of our anguish, struggle, and distress, defend us from the power of the enemy, and at the hour of hour death, receive our soul in Heaven. Amen

Prayer Incoming . . .

St Benedict is the Saint for Kidney diseases.

For prayer, Benedict turned to the psalms, the very songs and poems from the Jewish liturgy that Jesus himself had prayed. To join our voices with Jesus in praise of God during the day was so important that Benedict called it the “Work of God.” And nothing was to be put before the work of God.

Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted within me? Hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God. Psalm 42:11

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgives all thine iniquities, who heals all thy diseases. Psalm 103:1-3

I have set the Lord always before me: Because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices: my flesh also shall rest in hope. Psalm 16:8-9

The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses. Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins. Psalm 25:17-18

Prayer of St Benedict

Gracious and Holy Father,
Please give me:
intellect to understand you,
reason to discern you,
diligence to seek you,
wisdom to find you,
a spirit to know you,
a heart to meditate upon you,
ears to hear you,
eyes to to see you,
a tongue to proclaim you,
a way of life pleasing to you,
patience to wait for you
and perseverance to look for you.
Grant me a perfect end,
your holy presence,
a blessed resurrection
and life everlasting. AMEN

Psalm 16

1. A sweet psalm of David. Preserve me, O God; for in You I put my trust.
2. I have said to the Lord, You are my Lord; I have no good apart from You;
3. As for the holy ones who are in the earth, they are the excellent, in whom is all my delight.
4. And for those who choose another god, their sorrows shall be multiplied; their drink offerings of blood I will not offer, nor take up their names upon my lips.
5. The Lord is the portion of my inheritance and of my cup; You maintain my lot.
6. The lines are fallen for me in pleasant places; I have a goodly heritage.
7. I will bless the Lord, who has given me counsel; my insides also instruct me in the night seasons.
8. I have set the Lord always before me; because God is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
9. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; my flesh also dwells secure.
10. For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol; nor will You suffer Your pious one to see the pit.
11. You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Psalm 150

1. Hallelujah! Praise God in his sanctuary! Praise him in the firmament of his power!
2. Praise him for his mighty acts! Praise him according to his exceeding greatness!
3. Praise him with the sound of the shofar! Praise him with the harp and the lyre!
4. Praise him with the tambourine and dance! Praise him with stringed instruments and the pipe!
5. Praise him with sounding cymbals! Praise him with loud clashing cymbals!
6. Let every thing that breathes praise the Lord! Hallelujah!

THANKS TONS FOR ALL THE PRAYERS.

I just discovered this evening that I have to get ready for a pottery sale tomorrow morning at 07:30 instead of Friday morning. So I won’t be able to bump this thread.

I greatly appreciate all who pray and all who bump the thread.

Thanks tons in Mary’s behalf.

Holy God,

We are confident of Your love for Mary and we confess that on the cross of Calvary, Jesus bore her diseases and infirmities. Knowing this, we proclaim Your powerful healing upon every part of her body and especially her kidneys, that every organ, tissue, and cell would function just as You designed it to do. Give Mary strength and the patience to prevail as she waits for all symptoms of distress to disappear. Our Lord God, we exalt You and bless Your Name for all that You are doing in Mary’s life. In the Name of Jesus Christ, we pray, Amen.
