The Climate and Health Council, a collaboration of worldwide health organizations including the Royal College of Nursing, the Royal College of Physicians and the Royal Society of Medicine, believes there is a direct link between climate change and better health.
Their controversial plan would see GPs and nurses give out advice to their patients on how to lower their carbon footprint.
The Council believes that climate change “threatens to radically undermine the health of all peoples”.
It believes health professionals are ideally placed to promote change because “we have ethical responsibility…..as well as the capacity to influence people and our political representatives to take the necessary action”. (snip)
It wants to raise 'health' on the agenda of December's UN Climate Change Summit in Copenhagen.
They believe that offering patients advice on how to lower their carbon footprint can be just as easy and achievable as helping them to stop smoking or eat a healthier diet.
Other proposals include for all developed nations to pay an extra five dollars a barrel on oil and a tax on airline tickets. This would go into a special fund to develop low-carbon alternatives to existing technologies, they say.
Prof Mike Gill, from the University of Surrey, who co-chairs the Climate and Health Council, outlined the plans for the medical journal The Lancet last week.
He said: "Climate change already affects human health, creating problems that will increase if no action is taken.
"Overall, what is good for tackling climate change is good for health. Who better to spell out this message than health professionals? "We have the evidence, a good story to tell that dramatically shifts the lens through which climate change is perceived, and we have public trust."

Doctors are to tell people about the proper way to kill themselves so that the mother planet will not be burdened by their evil carbon-exhaling bodies.
If any doctor tries to tell me how to lower my carbon footprint, I’ll pull the cigarette out of his mouth and stuff it up his nose.
For the typical nurse, I’d take the donut out of her hand and stuff it arm length up her over-sized rear.
However, I suppose that addressing real and demonstrable problems would be against the ethos of the professional maudlin, meddling moonbats.

There is NO “Global Warming”!
CO2 makes up less than 3.5% of all “greenhouse gases”.
Water makes up more than 95%.
Man’s contribution to that 3.5% is less than 3% of that.
0.01%!!!!
The natural fluctuations in water vapor in the atmosphere are greater than that small percentage.
Therefore, it is not possible for mankind to impact the climate.
The tentacles of this criminal enterprise run deep, a lot of comrades are in on it.....

I’m sure it won’t be long before the APA calls Global Warming denial a mental disorder - whereas pedophilia and homosexuality are considered just normal by then.
The Soviets were famous for that...if you spoke out against Communism you were sent to a mental hospital, since no normal person could ever object to the perfect system (and they did have a lot of mental hospitals).

I guess inbreeding, poor genetics and estrogen tainted water is not a good thing; causing incarnate Euro-trash. For how is it that the average medical system could uphold the dogma of man-made global warming and carbon footprints having any empirical environmental impact. Maybe these masters of smart will next suggest a final solution, using “carbon metric allotments” (CMA) to limit human activity which leads to “Logan’s Run.” However, there is a way to fix all this, nuclear power, productivity and higher standards of living. Of course that does not fit within the Homo-Leninist’s model.
