Dear Administrator Jackson:
I write in regard to the Proposed Endangerment and Cause or Contribute Findings for Greenhouse Gases Under Section 202(a) of the Clean Air Act, Proposed Rule, 74 Fed. Reg. 18,886 (Apr. 24, 2009), the so-called "Endangerment Finding."
It has been often said that the "science is settled" on the issue of CO2 and climate. Let me put this claim to rest with a simple one-letter proof that it is false.

VDH is excellent and I especially enjoyed the scientific paper referred to at www.schmanck.de webiste.
In a nutshell, it explains that the current hypothesis on global warming is impossible since it violates the 2nd law of thermodynamics. Guess it sucks to be so married to a faith (global warming) that when truth (immutable laws of natural science) tells you you are in error, you reject the truth and believe the lie....Oh, wait. That happened in Nov. 2008 too. Dang. I’m sensing a pattern here.

Exactly what should happen. This global warming hoax has me wondering if there is any sanity left in the world. I am beginning to have serious doubts.
The whole “carbon dioxide as a pollutant” argument falls flat on a number of levels, not the least of which it is an essential building block of ALL life here on earth. Human beings, and all animal species, are totally dependent upon the capability of living plants in the presence of the correct light spectrum, to convert the tiny fraction of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere into carbohydrates and free oxygen. The original atmosphere of earth consisted of ammonia, methane, and a very large fraction of carbon dioxide, plus some amount of water vapor. Since the surface of the planet in the early period after its formation was very hot, there was no liquid water, not until the surface cooled enough for the water vapor to condense and form into pools.
Only then did the conditions arise to permit the generation of what we know today as “anaerobic” bacteria, which derived some of their energy from conversion of ammonia and carbon dioxide to water and free nitrogen, the beginning of our current atmospheric composition. While this primoral ooze thrived, its existence made possible the rise of a different sort of energy-converters, ones that used the presence of sunlight and the concentrations of carbon dioxide, and convert them into carbohyudrates, a form of stored energy, and free oxygen. This latter proved to be one of the more deadly compounds ever pumped into the atmosphere, and very nearly drove the anaerobic life forms to extinction, because of oxygen’s very highly reactive nature. But this same element also made the rise of other life forms possible, and the oxygen concentration in our atmosphere could not be maintained without the carbon dioxide.
In fact, carbon dioxide is only a little above the starvation level for green growing plants right now in the atmosphere, and if it were not for the enormous quantities (as compared to those of anthropogenic cause) of CO2 being delivered back to the atmosphere from natural sources and processes, plants would soon wither away and die. And that would truly be a disaster.
But there is a huge degree of homeostasis regarding the amount of CO2 produced, both through natural processes of biological breakdown, volcanic eruptions and evolution by chemical processes on an ongoing basis, and from these same anthropogenic sources. As quickly as the CO2 is introduced to the atmosphere, there is an equally quick uptake of the CO2 by the photosynthesis process, all over the world, so the AVERAGE amount of CO2 in the atmosphere varies little in distribution across the planet. There may be localized pockets where the CO2 is higher than the average, but that is an engineering problem, not a political target.
