Global warming is a hoax?

How many times have we heard that the world’s climate is being destroyed by the actions of man, especially westerners? Our lifestyle, our cars, our fireplaces, our lawn mowers, barbeque grills, and so on, are destroying the planet. A global emergency is at hand or we will surely bring about our end. We cannot wait any longer, the end is near. The sea will rise and hundreds of thousands will be displaced. The sky is falling! Everyone that questions the science behind this claim has been labeled a “ring wing lunatic” or simply not intelligent enough to understand the situation, since obviously liberals are the only truly enlightened ones. Just this week when I brought it up, a friend suggested that I “read some scientific journals” before we continue the debate. Well I suppose that would have completely substantiated the claim that man made climate change is a real phenomenon despite my insistence that it is not. Unfortunately it appears that this scientific evidence was not based on science at all. The data does not appear to support the findings that the temperature is indeed rising and there is little to no correlation to the so called “green house gases”.

Emails of some of the top scientists who supported this theory, often incorrectly referred to as a fact, were hacked and became available online for all to see. The emails suggested that data was overlooked when it disputed the claim or additional data was included to support it. Additionally efforts were made to conceal the information that didn’t support the claim or disputed it. True science does not allow the elimination of significant amounts of data. Though single points of data, outliers, which are often due to errors in recording, are often thrown out but never is it okay to pick and choose what information to use to support a position. If this theory, which so many have staked their livelihood to (Al Gore and many scientists) is debunked, what will the result be?

Many seem to think the leak, though damning, will not impact the long term position on global warming and climate change. Those that have the most to gain will surely discredit the doubters and they will attempt to push forward with the current plans that have already resulted in billions being spent and countless jobs being lost. Senator Inhofe (R-OK) isn’t planning to let this happen so easily however. He is calling for an investigation to determine if in fact there was “cooking of the books” with regard to climate change data and findings. I expect he’ll come to the same conclusion many already have, we simply aren’t 100% sure and we need to learn the truth before we all panic.

That is a major red flag right there that it's a hoax. If you missed high school chemistry and don't appreciate the role of CO2 in sustaining all this carbon based oxygen consuming life on planet earth. Real science doesn't get into the right-vs-left mud-slinging battles very much.

Good timing, just today I’d had it with our local paper. Printing more crap about global warming. My response sent today;

Dear Sirs at Ketchikan Daily News;

I know that you probably feel compelled to deluge us with the “facts” of global warming by constantly finding and printing articles regarding said catastrophe, but would it be possible for you to lay off, just a little bit?! Maybe use fair reporting, and instead of leaning heavily towards what you think is PC, just for once, give equal space?......

Looking through yesterdays paper, and yes I am a subscriber, there was no way to ignore the front page 1,000 word article titled “WARMING WORSE SINCE KYOTO”!!!

Instead, why didn’t you place the tiny little article stating that Bettles Alaska, the small village 200 miles north of Fairbanks has just set, for the fifth day in a row, a new cold record, at 47 degrees below zero on the front page, just to be fair squeeze it in next to the fear mongering that Al Gore will benefit from should cap and trade legislation pass, or a climate treaty at the summit in Copenhagan be reached? In other words, who is right? if we are in a warming stage, why is Bettles setting cold records?!!!

Your sizeable article titled “Scientist: Leak of e-mails appalling” seems more to sympathize with these “scientists”. I could only find one line referencing the content of these emails, it went like this “we can’t account for the lack of warming at the moment and it is a travesty that we can’t” , well BOO HOO!!! Such a travesty!!, what will we do?!! (manipulate the records of course)

Hey, Ketchikan Daily News; why don’t you print some facts: like for instance that the Hubbard Glacier is GROWING?!, THAT’S RIGHT, GROWING, AS IN GETTING LONGER http://www.iceagenow.com/Alaskas_Hubbard_Glacier_advancing_7_feet_per_day.htm , or how about the Himalayan Glaciers http://news.discovery.com/earth/himalayas-glaciers-shrink.html (even look at the link, the last word is “shrink” but the article is entirely about glaciers GROWING in the Himalyas...) or how about Mt. According to your front page article, the drivel titled “WARMING WORSE SINCE KYOTO” on pg 5, “glaciers are a good indicator”, so if I am to believe this article, then we are in a cooling stage, right? What the hell? Oh, yeah, and the picture of the melting iceberg, taken on July 19th, well, isn’t that what ice does during the summer in the norther hemisphere, melt? I mean hey, if it were melting in January then you might be inclined to print this on the front page but it sure seems ridiculous to show this picture looking at the date. Doesn’t the snow generally melt off Deer Mountain in the summer and build back up in the winter?

It should be clear to anyone with a thinking mind, that the Ketchikan Daily News editors tend to believe that we are in a Global Warming Crisis. Well instead of trying to push your agenda on us, why don’t you do a little research on your own and get some facts, What say?

The powers that (want to be) have to control energy in order to control production and commerce. People who can go anywhere they want, whenever they want, and do whatever they want because of cheap energy, are not people who can be dictated to and controlled. Take away the cheap energy.
