Schumer says 9/11 trial costs could exceed $100M
St. Louis Headlines Examiner ^ | November 19, 2009 | Jim Burst

Schumer, "Rough estimate from the city of New York, which I received yesterday, place the added cost of moving the trials of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and the other terrorist suspects to New York somewhere in the ballpark of $75 million, that's a minimum."

When questioned about security Schumer's response was that the estimate could be another $25M. And these are just the first four.

President Obama: That is right, a hundred million because nothing is too good for my little shnooky-wooky!

Terrorist Mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed: Turn around and take me back up to the view. I want to pick targets.

President Obama: Wait till we get back to New York City and I will carry you up the stairs of the Empire State Building for the very best target view, my little cuddle-cakes!

Terrorist Mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed: SILENCE! I KEEL YOU!

So, here’s another question concerning this stupidity. If you were a juror in this trial, would you be worried for your safety?

And another: Does KSM get a “jury of his peers?” Calling CAIR! One Muzzie and you get jury nullification.

Hey NYC, just add that paltry $100M to the bill you’re already gonna stick to the rest of the country, why don’t you? You and Kallie should certainly be proud of yourselves.

You have to hand it to the Democrats. They are very creative in finding ways to get public money into the hands of their benefactors (in this case, trial lawyers).

$100 million?

A mere pittance.

A paltry sum for high rollers like 0bamao and his fellow travelers.

After all, almost any sum of money is worth it to the goon-in-chief to embarrass the United States and transfer our secrets to our sworn blood enemies.

Well, isn’t that dandy? $100M more we don’t have to begin with, spent on a trial we don’t need, to support an agenda that doesn’t work.
These people are such incredible morons it’s a wonder they can breathe without instructions.

This is just a way to bailout NYC. You know that they will pad the bill and Obama will be happy to pay it.

This was always the goal of the liberal attorneys to get Gotmo Muslim terrorists here so taxpayers could pay their govt paid defense attorneys $5 million a case at least.

Keep enabling their pals in the TV news by keeping cable and sat TV. I cancelled my TV service. But I need TV to be a little serf and watch the ball games.

Your cable bill slices up around a $1 per channel plus or minus. So everytime you pay your bill - you keep CNN, ABC, CBS, MSNBC, NBC alive. Fox is better but has Saudi ownership.

Wait a minute how many people could that 100Million pay for health insurance? How many meals is that for the starving minorities? Where is the outrage at spending this kind of money while people in Harlem go to bed hungry every night?

Democrats hate poor minorities spending money to prosecute terrorists like this>

A .45 caliber bullet costs about $0.25. Save the tax money for something important.

Khalid Mohamed is a man representing an extremely wealthy boss, Osama bin Laden. Why should the American people foot the bill for this pig faced creature?

We need to release him to the voraciousness of the American lawyer.

Especially since a complete new courtroom has been designed, and constructed to exacting specifications in Guantanamo, and stands ready with special security precautions (bullet proof witness box etc.) and special design for private consultation of the accused with their attorneys. Everything has already been made ready, including the prevention of pro-jihad propaganda for world televising and recruitment.
Schumer loves publicity and manipulation. He should know better and think better of all this.

Should have posted this link to the State of the Art courtroom that has already been built in Gitmo. The Democrats will waste money without any problem at all to achieve a political end. Should also comment that the expense of NYC more than exceeds the dollar amount Obozo was concerned with “spending” to support the 40K additional troops needed in Afghanistan.

Here is the link. Amazing someone does not bring all this up as well in the face of economic reality:

Obama’s people have eliminated this terminology- if you click on the home page of JTF Gitmo, there apparently is no website for Joint Task Force Guantanamo anymore, and no links to a new site. So, they have purposely eliminated any reference to an existing facility, which is well known to Eric Holder’s law firm, who has defended people in Gitmo. We spent all that money and effort to make it all fair, humane and “transparent” (this word was being used in 2007, not an Obama word by the way)... and in order to bash Bush/Cheney and further endanger the US they will have an expensive show trial in NYC with mysterious rules of evidence in a civilian court. Absolutely nuts!

My 45 cent solution: take this miserable sob for a boat ride off gitmo and drop a .45 round in his brain pan and dump his a$$ in the gulf! no show trial, no adding $200 M to deficient to try his a$$ in a NYC circus...

Hmmm... What is the cost of a Military Trial? $100,000. No cost for “extra” security at Guantanamo.

Just add this to the 100 Billion that it may cost us as a Fed court has oked a Law Suit against the Army Corps Of Eng. As they are saying it's the Army's fault that the levees failed in N.O.. The head Lawyer suing the U.S. says we gave money to 911 victims, now it's time to be fair and help Katrina victims. It never ends.

I wish the cost was $1 trillion - no, make that $10 trillion. The sooner the dollar becomes worthless (and the federal government dissolves) the sooner sanity will return.

Thanks for posting that link! I knew a potload of money was spent in Gitmo but never knew it was a state of the art courtroom. How much did Camp Gitmo in itself cost? Add in all the prayer rugs,Korans,Specialty foods, Obama videos of worship and so on. Hell, I would not be shocked at all if the terrorists were issued Obama/Holder teddy bears.

Also...is Schumer (the snake oil salesman) adding the expense of the new jails in Illonois to be built for Gitmo terrorists? It will probably be better than a country club jail. Not too mention all of Obama’s Chicago radical thugs that will get kickbacks and secret slush funds under the guise of this jail.

WHAT A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY!!!! What will these state of the art court rooms in Gitmo be used for now?

You hit the nail on the head. This is why Obama and Holder are calling for the trials results before it happens. As well as secret kickbacks to Obama’s Chicago mob buds for the building of the Illinois prison.

The only thing though... is what if the defense attorneys decide to take the money and run AND call a mistrial on Obama and Holder? THINK ABOUT THIS! What will Obama do go on public TV and ask Holder to arrest them for not fullfilling a monetary bribe of promises?

I just really completely fathomed the amount of security NYCity will need for this circus of betrayal from Obama to America.

Will the terrorists shock the world and subpoena Obama as a character witness for their benefit?

Confession was made under duress. The case would be thrown out of a traditional US criminal trial.

Recall such cases have been blown before, Barack Obama’s pal Bill Ayers admits to being guilty as sin yet free as a bird. “Deep Throat” violated Ayers’ rights in obtaining information on the Weather Underground and the case was blown (although he still should have been prosecuted for treason).

Yep, sadly I feel more and more every second this type of thing could throw the trial to the terrorists. If you think about it you say to yourself... no way could that happen in America.

But we are talking unprecented. We are talking Obama.

Obama have never been to Gitmo

Obama says ‘close Gitmo’

Obama has never been to Gitmo.

Does Obama know what he is talking about?

Does Obama and the general public realize how well terrorists are treated with their korans, prayer rugs, good food?

And as you pointed out all the money spent in Gitmo that will be wasted while we are in a triple dip depression (if Obama says double the truth is triple)

http://www.jtfgtmo.southcom.mil/storyarchive/2007/October/103107-1-courtroom21.html

Do you know if Gitmo still has a web page online with their local newspaper and all?
