Embarrassment? I have no problem with her resignation. What do Alaskans think? She is doing her thing, her way, and on her schedule, and she is on a roll. The old way of doing things is over. The voter is in the mood to send the elite politicians packin and she can lead the gap very nicely thank you.

You miss the point. We are talking about Republicans. The Northeastern brand is different from elsewhere; more country clubbish, socially liberal, tolerant of high taxes and inordinately influenced

Not anymore. The NE states are flat broke. Taxes are being raised on everything. VA and NJ should be a good indicator of 2010. People simply can't afford to live in these states anymore. Welfare Death Care and Cap and Tax will destroy them.
Sure, there will still be welfare democrats and rabid Marxists voting (and there are lots of them), but those with common sense are crying out for a REAL savior.
MAYBE this coming election will bring some welcome surprises. Regan, a conservative running against a democrat recession like Obomas, got 49 states. It was a clean sweep.

I also think that, especially by resigning, she’s made herself an embarrassment to my cause. I wonder how many of that 59 percent agree with me?

You're in a very tiny minority.

Pull your head from where the Sun down shine and stop yakking about wherefore you have not an idea

Umm, this was the topic of discussion:

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 21% of Republican voters disagree and think the 2008 vice presidential candidate

Republicans, not liberals..If youre too undisciplined to remember what you were commenting on, you ought to stay off this board.

politicians resign all the time to run for higher office, big deal.

And how many politicians do you know who were getting dozens of frivolous lawsuits filed against them constantly that they were having to pay to defend against from their own pockets?

those are all great, but what I really love her for is her courage to call a spade a spade, and reveal the zero for the socialist he is.

Yeah, but who cares about winning. The election of 2008 clearly shows winning is an overrated goal.

Sad, but true, particularly for the primaries.

“As best as I can tell, Sarah Palin shares my views too.
So do my mechanic, a couple of my next door neighbors, and the lady who does my wife’s hair.
That does not mean I see them all as potential Presidents.”

But they ARE potential VOTERS, aren’t they? You wouldn’t be expecting them to actually RUN for anything, now would you?

Take into consideration that at least half of Independents are former GOP conservatives who balked at always having to hold their noses and vote for the lesser of two evils, opting instead to vote their values, of which mcshame had hardly any. They stayed home in droves.
During the last election, my heart was breaking for what I saw as two peas from the same pod stiffing us without any degree of shame or conscience. Then along came Sarah and lit up the sky like a burst of sunshine.
NOT what mcshame expected. Not what he planned for when he deliberately chose her because he thought he had a sure loser, an unknown, untried, lady with no national name recognition.
He got his head handed to him and the scare of his life when she made it seem possible he could actually win. So what did they do? He allowed his own campaign to trash her. They smothered her. They slimed her. They are sliming her still.
How much do you respect mccain? Me, NONE.
And what did SHE do?
Well, Sarah is still standing. Sarah is stronger now than she was then. Sarah is outdistancing every other wannabe runner on the scene. I voted for her once already, and I will proudly do so again.
And so will the Independents the GOP drove out.

The anti-Conservatives in the GOP hated President Reagan as well.

They preferred this "moderate" BS, which is what caused massive debt, waste, corruption and other problems because of their cozy attitude with the democrat party.

Conservatives are preferred by the American people because they favor strong National Security at home and abroad, and they also favor smaller government that allows more freedom to the individual.

I’m a big fan of Mrs Palin, and would be delighted to see her win the Presidency. However, your caution about emotions and personalities bears repeating.

People will always let you down. Only principles endure.

I saw a poll not long ago that said 70% of the GOP shared OUR Sarah`s values. I remember specifically because a RINO (cant place his name at the moment) said that her numbers should be in the 80`s.

Sarah is going to be trashed in the MSM like we have never seen, its started already. Not sure if Ras is even a fan of Sarah, probably not?

But we have so many “helpful” Democrats saying that Sarah is TOO Conservative for the party and the country.

GOSH — who do we trust on this one ...

I’m old enough to remember the incessant hammering, belittling, and marginalizing Reagan received. Just a grade B movie actor. Yeah, right! And this was before many of the media outlets that we have today. I’m sure that in these times, he would be “borked” or “quayled” even worse. But he paved the way for some of the most prosperous, patriotic, blessed times we’ve had as a nation.

the RNC has “officially” ceased endorsing senatorial and congressional candidates. (translation, pushing RINOS) I suspect the back stabbing back room BS is still going on given Mr. Steele 100% slease factor in NY 23.

The RINOs are afraid.

you becha!

Well heck, they can fix that—just keep moving left. Don’t they keep telling us we must be more like demrats? It’s typical squishy RINO logic. I was talking to a woman—perhaps in her 40s—at Epcot last summer. We touched on politics. She proudly told me she was a moderate. I asked her what that meant. She said, proudly, that she considers all sides and then chooses. I asked her what her core beliefs were. I got a blank look.
