Why are they eager to hire Corzine? If they really want a loser, they should wait until Gov. Granholm becomes available.

Former New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine said on Thursday in a news conference that he has not spoken with Bank of America (BAC: 15.98, -0.09, -0.56%) about becoming the bank’s CEO. Corzine, who previously served as a Goldman Sachs (GS: 176.87, -1.49, -0.84%) executive, said he had been “reading books” instead of preparing to join Bank of America.

Addressing reports by BusinessWeek and the The Wall Street Journal,Corzine said in the conference that he has “never thought about” joining Bank of America as CEO, and that he does not see the company as part of his future.

Anyone who still has money in BOA a) doesn’t read the news and b) hasn’t actually tried to deal with BOA in the last 10 years. The fact that BOA hasn’t yet been siezed by the government just shows that even the fed isn’t willing to scoop up that flaming bag of crap.

He was such an outstanding success running NJ, I can understand why BofA would be thrilled to have him running the joint.

Don't forget, Corzine was General Manager of Goldman Sachs before he ran for Governor.
