NEA's number-one choice -- Alinsky's 'rules'

AIP News exclusive commentary
by:  Tom Kovach

Yesterday, the Canada Free Press reported that the National Education Association had listed as "recommended reading" the pro-Communist book Rules for Radicals by Saul Alinsky.  The CFP report did not mention that it was the number-one choice on the NEA's list.

To prevent the NEA from later altering its Web pages and backing away from this stance under public scrutiny, I have copied the relevant Web pages and converted them to PDF documents.  First, here is the NEA's "recommended reading" list for its members.  (NOTE:  the page's appearance was slightly altered in the PDF conversion process, but the content remains exactly as it was in the original.)

Next, here is the page that is linked from the above list.  This is an official NEA book review of Rules for Radicals.

It is more than obvious from the sequencing and positive review that the National Education Association thinks that such anti-American, pro-Communist material is somehow important to the professional development of publc-school teachers.

The above should come as no surprise.  Conservative political, educational, and religious organizations have been warning about the NEA agenda for many years.  In 1994, I obtained an internal NEA newsletter that proclaimed "gay rights" to be their number-one legislative priority!  So much for a focus on education.

But, now that CFP has focused some sunlight on this particular aspect of the NEA's radical agenda, AIP has done its part to ensure that there will be no sunscreen for them.

How fitting. And do we really believe that our pathetic education ‘professionals’ with their wretched
abilities would keep their jobs a week under an authoritarian leftist government. The union officials would survive they already being the hardcore criminal thugs needed to rule.

Once they destroy the country, isn’t stage two all their (teachers) children round them up and grind them into sausage in a gulag meat factory? Under Mao they even got so weary trying to find out who exactly had to die that they just selected anyone wearing glasses - even if they swore up and down that they supported the revolution.

The Canada Free press article cited Sam Bloomfield's book "NEA-Trojan Horse". It was written years ago and now appears to be so very prophetic.

Sam also exposed the Whole language plan that laid the ground work for the Dumbing Down of our children. That book is titled "The Whole Language/OBE Fraud. These books were published in the mid 90's and are so very relevant today.

Sam Blumenfeld would never say "I told you so" but indeed he did in his books and speeches and I count him as someone I have met and admire.

Isn’t this book dedicated to Satan?

The ACLU must be cool with THAT religion and schools.

My brother was in some program in school where they used something called the Initial Teaching Alphabet, where they replaced the letters with phonetic symbols. He could read the ITA books perfectly but had major troubles transitioning over to a regular alphabet. He essentially had to start from scratch and could barely read by the time he was in high school.

For some reason I find this story unaccountably dispiriting. I guess it is because it reveals just how far gone our culture really is. We have the leading teachers organization in the country touting a how- to book for the subversion of America.

We fight endlessly over every nuance in our children's textbooks but what does that avail if the teachers themselves are subverting our children? We have self confessed communists in the administration of Barack Obama and the reaction is to kill the messenger who exposes them.

Political correctness turns the military on its head and renders it incapable of defending itself against an internal jihadist while media turns logic on its head to protect the cause of political correctness and its principal exponent in the White House.

It is not time for despair but it is time to redouble our resolve to politically throttle these malefactors of our republic and keep them away from our children and the levers of power.

How could this ever be approved given the violence suggested in the text?

"Society has good reason to fear the Radical. Every shaking advance of mankind toward equality and justice has come from the Radical. He hits, he hurts, he is dangerous. Conservative interests know that while Liberals are most adept at breaking their own necks with their tongues, Radicals are most adept at breaking the necks of Conservatives.

I believe you are correct...but that'd be in keeping with the entire Obama administration.

If this was an attempt at sarcasm, you failed. My sister is a middle school teacher in New Mexico. She works very hard to provide the best education possible under the harshest circumstances, and has great success. She is faced with gang babies, druggie parents, abuse, kids who still suffer from fetal acholism, extreme poverty (some don’t have indoor plumbing), homeless kids, mental health problem kids, etc. She enters that war zone everyday, because she loves her job and the kids. Except for the ones that tried to kill her a few years ago.

Not all teachers are problems.

What a travesty. The most difficult thing to grasp is that this was done, and still is being done,DELIBERATELY. A functionally illiterate populace is easier to CONTROL.

I have just been informed that Blumenfeld's "NEA,The Trojan Horse" is going to be republished. Watch for it

Whole language/Sight and Say taught children to read using "pictographs". They memorized how the whole word looked, much like a Chinese Character. They were quickly limited by their "memory bank" of sight words and could not "sound out" new words.

The frustration experienced by these children who are told they can read must be extreme. The elementary tests and texts contain the limited memorized vocabulary but the trouble begins when they must read other texts.

One last observation..ADD/ADHD which primarily affects boys, began to escalate dramatically as Whole Language and New Math took hold. Read Blumenfeld's book to see the whole sad story.
