Fox News can confirm that Fort Hood suspect Army Major Nidal Hasan is awake and speaking to medical staff at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio.
Hospital spokesperson Maria Gallegos says he's in critical but stable condition.
A U.S. Army spokesman says Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, the suspected Fort Hood gunman, is in critical but stable condition three days after he allegedly opened fire on the military base that killed 13 and left 29 wounded.
Hasan, 39, was shot during an exchange of gunfire during Thursday's attack. The military moved him on Friday to Brooke Medical Center, where he was taken off a ventilator on Saturday.

That is very correct. I read of a case of a psychiatrist in the US who beat his wife and children to death with a baseball bat. He was certified insane, and spent only a short while in facility before being 'cured' and released. Writers on this case have suggested he feined mental illness and feined recovery. He had all the background for it.
My husband heard earlier that Hasan refused to be part of a group photo his medical company was having taken for a Christmas card because there would be nurses in it - the whole Sha’ria thing, I guess. I wonder how he likes being cut down by a slip of girl who dropped her first deer at 11? I wonder how he likes having female nurses seeing his body as they tend to his injuries? Speaking of, maybe those wounds would heal faster if the nurses slapped a little bacon grease on them?

It’s common sense in a toxic legal environment. If claimed by the press to be the killer, and if somehow found innocent by a court of law, he can claim and sue for libel.
Remember, you are not PROVEN to be guilty before convicted by a court of law. Even if everyone knows the facts, even if it was on live TV. . .
I thought that too, but now I look at it as him getting it here and when he gets the firing squad (I can hope) and then on the other side too.
