Sen. Joe Lieberman calls Fort Hood massacre a 'terrorist' act
New York Daily News ^ | 11/7/2009 | Samuel Goldsmith

Posted on 11/08/2009 12:46:25 PM PST by SeekAndFind

Sen. Joe Lieberman called the Fort Hood massacre an act of "Islamist extremism" - even as top Army brass warned Sunday against guessing at a motive, fearing backlash against Muslim soldiers.

"There are very, very strong warning signs here that Dr. Hasan had become an Islamist extremist and, therefore, that this was a terrorist act," Lieberman (I-Conn) told Fox News on Sunday.

"If the reports that we're receiving of various statements he made, acts he took are valid, he had turned to Islamist extremism."

Lieberman, the former Democratic vice presidential candidate, chairs the Senate Homeland Security committee.

Nidal Malik Hasan, the Army psychiatrist accused of killing 13 people and wounding 30 more on Thursday, reportedly expressed moral concerns about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Lieberman's comments were in stark contrast to U.S. Army chief of staff George Casey, who told CNN he's deeply worried "that the speculation could cause something that we don't want to see happen."

"It would be a shame - as great a tragedy as this was - it would be a shame if our diversity became a casualty as well," Casey said.

The former Iraq war commander said on ABC that focusing on Hasan's religious roots might "heighten the backlash" against all Muslims serving in the armed forces.

Some 3,500 people who identify themselves as Muslim serve in the U.S. armed forces. Experts suggest there are actually many more Muslim soldiers, but they are too fearful to openly declare their faith. An Army chaplain asked worshipers at Fort Hood to pray for the victims of the tragedy - and also for Hasan and his family.

Joe may be a raging liberal but on the subject of terrorism he is usually right on the money, as he is this time. No reasonable person could come to any other conclusion than the Ft Hood attack was a terrorist hit.

Three cheers for Joe.

Is it my imagination or did then CPT Hasan have his official photograph taken with a pretty visible five o'clock shadow?

Islamic extremist is redundant. Islam by its nature is extremely violent.

Now, FOX, get on it more. Do NOT let the orders handed down to the military and the sycophant media stand uncontested.

We all know the truth.

I am surprised to admit it, but I am starting to love Joe Leiberman. He must be at the stage in his political life where he says to himself-—”What have I got to lose? I might as well tell the truth and let the chips fall where they may”. I might even send an email to him, I am so moved.
It is hard to believe he once ran with that demagogue , ALGORE.

The Islamic “faith” should be a disqualifier for service in our armed forces. Not gonna happen, but it should.

It is a form of national suicide to encourage this rabid, barbaric, social and political system which is hostile to our traditions and Constitution to flourish in our beloved United States.

FOX has been terrible in their reporting on this,m infact MSNBC and CNN have stated more facts than FOX

sad part is that the Brit press are the ones who are doiing the real reporting.
He gave his koran away just before the shooting but also told the person who took the koran that he was to do Gods work
He then shouts allah

FOX has not reported on that, nor him dressed in arab garb just before the terrorist act, nor have they reported on his radical arguments or how he was moved because of his radicalism.

Either fox starts telling the truth on this or their ratings will go down too

the obvious gag order that has been given to the military and willing obeyed by the MSM - by our MIC (M=muzzie) is tantamount to treason.

He has now alienated any few stragglers, I believe, in the military that had retained any respect for him.

He disdains our troops, he has no loyalty to this country (has stated it himself) - is but a Pretty, polished, programmed puppet. Put that together with a narcissistic personality - and we have nothing less dangerous than a Nero at the helm.

That aught to put me on the list for the reeducation camps, if I'm not already there. Ask me if I care.

If there are “backlash” incidents, deal with them. So far, the only backlash I see is the knee-jerk “no terrorism/Islamist basis” psuedo-explanation for this attack.

It insults soldiers to lecture them (and the public) on backlash — when the media, FBI, and the military command structures fall over themselves NOT mentioning that Hassan was a Muslim.

PTSD “caught” from other soldiers? Is that in the diagnostic manuals? Sheesh.

As I've been saying on other threads, don't hold your breath for Fox to address the Islamist angle.

Saudi Prince AlWaleed Bin Talal currently owns 5.7% of Fox News parent company News Corp. This share is all that's keeping Murdoch from losing control of News Corp. Alwaleed also owns Rotana Media, the company that has the exclusive rights to broadcast FOX News Channel in Saudi Arabia.

Do not expect any enthusiasm from Fox News producers to go there.

I have no use for diversity.

I've come to believe this "diversity" bandwagon is a psychosis or at best a very severe delusion. People who otherwise seem intelligent, articulate and reasoned simply shut down parts of their brain to certain facts in order to bolster what is basically a new form of racism, sexism and the like. To the point where they would rather see people die -- horribly -- before even considering something like profiling or, in cases like the media coverage of Fort Hood, speaking the truth.

PTSD “caught” from other soldiers? Is that in the diagnostic manuals?

Any stress he had over hearing our soldiers horrific battle stories is because they were fighting HIS people - not because of what happened to our troops - and that is also the reason he didn't want to deploy.

He was a freaking psychiatrist. He would not see combat. He was a Major, he would not be patrolling the streets or mountains. He was freaked out because he would be in the field WITH his enemy as they fought HIS people, the Muslims.

And how about the Muslim garbed man that visited him in his apartment JUST before he went on his rampage? Absolution for the mayhem he was about to commit? It's against Islam to commit murder - UNLESS you murder infidels in the act...then it's glorious.-

There are reports that he tried to teach his patients - our traumatized troops who had been in battle with those Cretins - how wrong they were to have been fighting muslims! He preached Islam to them for years. He saw them as infidels who had been killing HIS people.

Can you imagine how much deeper their depression will be, after coming home and having a freaking Major tell them how wrong they were!

Is the army going to follow up on those patients and help them - or would that be 'insensitive' to Islam.

If this Marxist group in DC ever declares Martial Law (we know they want to) for any trumped up reason and orders the military to turn on Americans - how many now do you think will obey THAT order.

We well may see a for real revolution before the current reign is over...but there will be a lot of trained veterans that weren't so trained 8 years ago.

This gang of thugs better think long and hard before they take that one step too far.

Don’t forget the new indoctrination word ‘Inclusive’
Which really means to embrace every strange and deviant
thing that comes down the pike. People are not allowed
to reject anything except traditional values and ideas
that have been proven to work. Gotta make trannies and

He may be telling it like it is, but he is silent on what he proposes to do.

Did he say anything on what should be done with those in the mosque who supported this treasonous act? The possibility that the next act of terrorism in Killeen will come from that exact same group should not be ignored.

Like most politicians do, the senator opens his mouth just to be noticed but offers no solution.

More or less what we'd expect from a political creature (B.S., International Relations, Georgetown; M.A., International Studies, U-Denver).

Gen. Casey, you imbecile, sir: "something that we don't want to see happen" actually happened Thursday afternoon.

Fretting that "our diversity" might become a casualty -- and characterizing that casualty as a "shame" and "as great a tragedy as this was" -- is a vile insult to the flesh-and-blood victims of a Muslim terrorist in the Army's own ranks.

You, sir, are an embarrassment to your late father and a disgrace to your rank and your uniform and your commission and your country.
