Fort Hood tragedy: A Muslim’s perspective (**BARF ALERT**)
Waco Tribune ^ | 11/5/2009 | Wendy Gragg

Posted on 11/05/2009 6:41:34 PM PST by markomalley

Al Siddiq, president of the Islamic Center of Waco, followed the unfolding news of the Fort Hood tragedy anxiously, as a veteran of the U.S. Army himself, as a friend of some Muslim soldiers currently stationed at the Central Texas post and as a Muslim who has become wary of backlash.

Siddiq said the Muslim Islamic community is very concerned that the shooter on Fort Hood was a Muslim because Muslims tend to get all thrown into the same category. Since 9/11, Siddiq said, when an individual Muslim acts stupid, it affects the entire Islamic community. The concern is backlash against other Muslims, he said.

“We’ve been very fortunate in Waco,” Siddiq said. “But there’s always a backlash.” Siddiq said he had a great experience in the U.S. Army, both in Korea and stationed at Fort Campbell.

“That’s what hurts me the most,” he said. “The Army has accommodated Muslims. Not any other Army can offer what the U.S. Army offers.”

Siddiq said what he has heard is that the Fort Hood shooter may be a convert to Islam. He said he thinks the problem some converts have is not based on the Islam religion, but on the resentment toward the U.S. government that they bring to their faith.

Instead of talking backlash and making excuses he ought to be offering condolences to the Ft. Hood family.

For once, I'd LOVE to see some anti-Muslim backlash. The bad way we treated the Irish-Americans in the 19th Century, German-Americans in WWI and Japanese-Americans in WW II did one positive thing...it made them have to prove their loyalty to America.

Muslims haven't had to prove any such thing. They're getting a free ride. They can be as anti-american as they want, and don't fear any repercussion.

Gee, I can't imagine why that is. Perhaps they should try, oh, I don't know...NOT killing non-muslim Americans for a change.

And maybe the ones who aren't doing the killing should stand up and condemn those who are? My Mom was a wealth of one-liners and old sayings. In this case her comment would have been “Silence gives consent.”

BACKLASH???
I’d give them backlash. There would not be ONE Muslim left in the US armed services tonite. Not one. Every one in Ft. Hood would have been rounded up and dispatched right after the shooting.
We have taken the enemy into our midst and this is the result.
When I first heard of the shooting I told my sister- it’s a Muslim, watch! She doubted me- and hours later I was proven right.
Muslims should not be in our military, our cities, our country- period. To hell with ‘fair’. We’re going to ‘fair’ our society into extinction.
And I somehow doubt that the families of the dead soldiers care about being ‘fair’ right now.

To hell with Islam and every Muslim on the planet.Murderous barbarians, every last one of them.

The concern is backlash against other Muslims, he said. When you condone, excuse, and equivocate acts of terror and when you DON'T condem or offer condolences what exactly do you expect.

Maybe if the so called "moderate muslums" would speak out against terror now and again we would feel compelled to lump you all in the same violent death cult. Until then. GUILTY AS CHARGED.

“STUPID” hardly cuts it when talking about this cold blooded MURDER.

When a person’s religion is their reason for killing, then all members of that religion are suspect - AS THEY SHOULD BE. Islam specifically calls for this - it is not an instance of an isolated mental case popping off - it is a tenet of their danged CULT.

But Barack fricking Hussein fricking Obama has their back...

Nah this POS member of ROP was born into the ROP
He didn’t convert and he did just what his ROP preaches

I’m sick of the members of the ROP making every excuse they can to make themselves look like the victims they are not.

ROP isn’t a religion it is a political philosophy incompatible with freedom or being an American.
They shouldn’t let the door hit them in the A$$

The whole coverage of this story is so wrapped up in PC nonsense. Even Fox was tripping all over themselves trying not to make the muslim connection. Now that it can’t be denied they’re going all out to minimize it. Now I wonder what the coverage would be if by some fluke Malik Nadal Hasan was found to be a Leboneese Christian?

Siddiq heard wrong. Per Hasan’s cousin, the Major has been life long Muslim.

No need to overreact. This guy Hasan showed numerous signs to numerous people that made it obvious that he was unfit for duty -- yet he was being deployed to a battlefield. That was not a decision made by a jihadist Muslim but by his commanders! They should be drummed out of the army for such incompetence.

As for Muslims in general, I'm sure many are performing admirably and unlike Hasan, are not making statements that obviously reveal that they are unfit for duty. A soldier's religion should always be kept in mind by his superiors, but his commitment to his oath(s) is much more critical in evaluating his fitness to serve. Sometimes the two are closely related and sometimes they are not.

“Muslims tend to get thrown into the same category’’ Whats the other ‘’category’’? The ones who don’t call for killing Jews, infidels, demanding Sharia Law supplant the Constitution, the category that hasn’t been a boil on the butt of humanity for fourteen centuries? What category? Help me out here Al. How much more of Islams putrid exsistance and violence must we endure? Enough is enough. Deport them.

Remember that jackass in Arizona who went and shot a Sikh gas station owner after 9/11? Never was one to think we should go all lynch mob, especially because I’m brown skinned and bearded, but I do have to wonder why we have a patriot act if it isn’t being used to snoop on mosques and such.

Well, if you would look at it this way maybe you would have a different attitude about fair:

Behead him, drag his naked body through the streets of Killeen, hang him from a bridge and set his body on fire. That is the way they treat ours so let's be fair.

I think the truth of the matter is he rode his free ride in this country as far as he could and then he was going to have to go where we are fighting Muslim terrorists. He is on their side so he couldn't do that. Instead he fought jihad against us before he left.

The last part of your comment is the truth that too many will not face. He wasn’t a stressed out soldier who didn’t want to deploy again- he’s a Muslim who didn’t want to fight Muslims with whom he agrees re. the US and our way of life.
He is an enemy in our ranks, and there are countless others.
I ask you- is this right? Would we have thought it ok to have Nazi sympathizers in our military in WW2?
It’s a no brainer.
He USED our society then attacked it because Islam is above all else.

Now as to my view of ‘fair’...
Do you think I am horrified at the concept of treating them as they treat us? I am not. I wouldn’t take it as far as inhuman brutality( as their religion ordered them to do), but purging our society of them is the ONLY way to save it.
There are ways to do it that are not so bloodthirsty-its not a ‘use their methods or do nothing thing.)
Islam cannot- and has never- peacefully co-existed with other beliefs. Taking them in is akin to putting a viper in your shirt to be kind to it and keep it warm. It WILL attack you- that is its nature.
NO amount of ‘understanding’ and tolerance will ‘tame’ Islam. Every Muslim considers every word of the evil Koran sacred-it is very specific: domination of all. Infidels must convert or die.
Islam is a recipe for the destruction of everything non-Islamic . Muslims understand that, they admit it- WE don’t want to face the facts, we pretend otherwise even after they attack and SAY its because they hate us( as this Major had in the past).
So- beheading, burning corpses in the street? Sink to their level of barbarism? No- but it may come to that if we don’t have the guts to cast the enemy of all that we stand for out of our society. It very well may- and I will have no pity, because( unlike the Americans who were brutally murdered) they will have earned it.
Seeing them get what they have given would be ‘unfortunate’ but not unexpected.
If you identify with an evil ideology, you have to expect to be considered evil.

Were it in my power, there would not be a Muslim anything in this country. But the Islamic Horse has been welcomed into our gates and one of their own sits in the White House.
I don’t know what else has to happen before we stop Disneyfying Islam-but the government we have now isn’t going to help us.

There are no vegetarian cannibals.
There is no such thing as a ‘good’ homicidal maniac.
There is no such thing as a ‘good’ cancer.
There is no such thing as a ‘good’ Nazi and there is not-
nor can there be- a ‘good’ Muslim.

Petting the lion laying peacefully in the grass-for now- doesn’t change the fact that it sees you as food.

I was not advocating the actions I described, just pointing out what "fair" would be.

He USED our society then attacked it because Islam is above all else.

So do the Communist and we have a hybrid Communist/Muslim in the WH. I have written on other threads about the nexus of the two and David Horowitz describes it well in his book, Unholy Alliance.

Were either to dominate they would destroy or neuter the other. I suppose they both oppose The Great Satan and cooperate on the basis of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend."

We are the salvation of the world and we had better fight like it.
