I hate unions. And not just the corrupt bosses. I hate the union workers too. I hate the union worker mentality. I have no respect at all for union workers. They are entitlement-seeking, do-the-minimum, loafers. I spit on all of them.

$60 million for Barack Obama and other Democrats in the 2008 campaign cycle. Altogether, Mr. Stern and other labor union leaders reportedly gave Democrats some $400 million last year.

Why not put these dollars into the pension funds and paychecks and stay out of politics.

“Mr. Obama benefited last year from a big turnout of young voters, who backed him by a 66% to 32% margin. This year young voters formed only about half as large a percentage of the electorate in Virginia and New Jersey as they did in 2008, and in Virginia they voted about as Republican as their elders.”

“Hey, dude. You gonna vote?”

“Vote? There’s an election?”

“Yeah, some dudes are running or something.”

“Yeah? Pass me the chips.”

(sound of joint being lit.)

“What’s on TV?”

Governments from the local all the way to BamaKennedy’s office employee the most union members. That is why Nanny state Pelosi has ‘created’ so many new government positions.

These liberals can only get so many votes from their Wall Street winners and they will need UNIONs to get out their vote every election.

States will load up their ballots for UNIONs causes just to get that vote out. Course don't forget that only a small portion of the walking around stimulus money has yet to be spent....

Michael Barone is always very thoughtful and his articles are well researched. Unions should have little power and even less money from government. When we retake the House in 2010, we need to reverse all of the union handouts. It is bad enough that the crook union bosses are stealing from their members union dues (many have similar political leanings but not all and most would much rather their money be spent locally on something that would benefit them directly than on contributions to the Dims at the federal level or for state elections), but most of the dues are being stolen from them for political reasons.

“Maybe around the country union members will start asking their leaders what they have gotten for all the money they’ve spent on politics.”

There was once a time when Unions were a great benefit to workers. That has not been true since about the 1960’s. Today, it is obvious, Unions are out to take over businesses, and become the ones that run them rather than their owners and share holders. Thats not right. The Thuggery that was present in Union history still exists today, the biggest difference is that the Unions are neither wanted nor are they NEEDED in a modern day economy.

I think it’s time that Unions took their place in history. Now a days they are doing as much harm as good, and for certain, they aren’t representing their members wishes. They represent their own. The peons trapped in their systems opinions are completely irrelevant to them. And it shows.

Unions working in cahoots with management seem to still perfectly capable of getting whatever they want on Main Street.
