Nancy Pelosis healthcare plan presumes that about 8-14 million American workers will pay fines rather than buy health insurance. Unless they do, theres a $167-billion hole in her financing plan...Like the rest of us, this group would face higher-than-ever insurance prices under Pelosis proposed bill.
Pelosi, President Obama, and others claim they will make coverage cheaper, yet the official projection relies upon millions who would prefer to pay fines rather than join their system. In some cases the individuals would pay the penalty; in others their employers would pay...
The plan is built around a major contradiction. Only if it fails to make insurance more affordable would the bill generate the promised $167-billion by fining people who would still remain uninsured. Why? Because insurance would become more expensive, thus increasing the disincentives to buy coverage.
Premiums under the new government-run public option will probably be higher than from private insurance, according to the CBO...The AP reports that premiums in the public plan would be higher than the average for private plans. Rather than inducing private carriers to lower their premiums, other experts agree that private insurance will also be costlier under Pelosis plan, as insurers pass along the tax increases.
Yet Pelosi claims the measure will bring lower costs for every patient by lowering healthcare costs for all of us. Obama campaigned on a promise that the plan would save families $2,500 a year in lower premiums. He doesnt mention that figure anymore...
This is not a millionaires tax. Its a tax on the uninsured...the working poor. Only a fraction of these Americans might receive some form of subsidy... Yet sponsors claim they will finance the plan by collecting $167 billion in taxes from the uninsured! It contradicts the very premise of the legislation.

Those who are unemployed, which will be around 10%, will pay nothing. There is no way the 111 new commissions and bureaus that are included in the ObamaCare nightmare can be financed except with trillions of worthless dollars borrowed from the Chinese.
Come and get me, coppers!
Just another way for them to make innocent folks criminals.
Dream on. If you have a job, they will take it out of your salary like they already take federal income tax, FICA, etc.
IF it passes it will start a nationwide resistance to avoid paying for it.
And when the federales try to collect people will start shooting back.
And when millions are arrested and detained America will storm the prisons and release their friends and neighbors, states will secede.
Health care offices will be vandalized, workers will be “taunted”.
I don’t have a salary.
Will it be declared a felony?? Don’t buy insurance, lose your gun rights?
Then they will require you to include your fine in your quarterly payments.
As soon as the liberals realize THEY will be paying more, and not those evil rich making more than $250,000 the poop will hit the fan.
What quarterly payments? Sales tax?
What if I refuse? Which gets us back to my original statement.
What if millions of us refused?
Or at the very least a few 100 thousand?
They could never enforce this.
Sounds like a movie screenplay........
If you have an income, for instance, if you are self-employed, and you are not paid a salary from which taxes can be withheld, the government requires you to pay quarterly installments on your income tax. I hope this doesn’t come as unwelcome news to you! The “what if we refused” argument sure feels good, but do you really want them to come and take your house? They can, they have and they will.
Thank you for your concern, but I have already made legal arrangements should the worst happen.
To say any more would be to say too much to a stranger.
