It just gets to Canadians they know more of the US but an American public school grad couldnt find nor care about Canada

That makes Canadians jealous of Americans.? Interesting logic.

Seems to me that there is a big difference between the American individual and the American government's actions and policy . The American economy and government action toward it should scare the crap out of any thinking Canadian and for that matter , any thinking American . There is nothing there to be jealous of.

Obama and his controllers with their domestic and foreign policies, are is in way over their heads . That isn't jealousy people feel , that's distrust and , in the end , fear.

Some of you are putting far to much faith in “ Historica Dominion Institute” survey of 1,018 Canadians.

Bingo. Also we have no idea as to the demographic breakdown of the poll. All the folks polled could have been from Tornoto or Montreal. The poll is basically useless without knowing the original sample size (1,018 could just be what was left after discarding some responses), the demographic breakdown, geographic location of respondants, and a list of the questions asked.

You are talking about now. What about in the 70’s 80’a and 90’s when I made most of my trips to Canada. That is when I came to the conclusion that the rude treatment I recieved in your country was pure green eyed jealousy.

Well , if you feel better thinking Canadians are jealous of you because once upon a time Canadians were rude to you perhaps it's because your inferiority complex is holding you back from living in 2009 . The article wasn't about jealousy and , quite honestly , politically , socially and economically you have nothing to be jealous of .

Yes, but I just read post #66.

My point is that this poll is so vague I’m not told, by the pollsters, WHAT the Canadians distrust us about. Come on, they can’t use precise language? Pfft.

You’re the perfect example of the stereotypical “ugly American.”

hhhmmmmmm........I rarely think about Canadians at all. The only place I have ever been made to feel less welcome than I felt in western Canada .......... was France.

Where in the west? Vancouver I can believe, but I've been to Alberta several times it's like being in Texas.

One of my best friends is from Montreal. Still to this day. He’s probably the most “semi” anti-American I’ve met but I let it pass sometimes bec. we grew up together.

One day we were drunk and I was more coherent than he was that I asked him why are you so pissed off about the Americans?

His answer was “because they have everything, man.”
