WASHINGTON – For Republicans, an election win of any size Tuesday would be a blessing. But victories in Virginia, New Jersey or elsewhere won't erase enormous obstacles the party faces heading into a 2010 midterm election year when control of Congress and statehouses from coast to coast will be up for grabs.
It's been a tough few years for the GOP. The party lost control of Congress in 2006 and then lost the White House in 2008 with three traditional Republican states — Indiana, North Carolina and Virginia — abandoning the party.

AP is right for once. Conservatives need to keep up the pressure with the Republican Party, and the Republican Party needs to kick the snot out of Democrats come 2010. If we can get rid of more RINOs, that should be a done deal.

In 1994, the media spin (from Peter Jennings) was that America “threw a temper tantrum” by seating the GOP in Congress.
There is always a perception that the rats get more of the vote than they actually do. I actually had to argue with an acquaintance who insisted that Obama got more than 60 percent of the popular vote nationwide.
He wouldn’t even believe the CNN website showing Obama with 53% of the national vote.
They are right. Still a giant loss for the GOP, but a bigger loss for the left, and a massive win for conservatism.
After Scuzzi in NY-23, I truly can’t tell the difference between the DNC and the RNC. It may have been locals that nominated Scuzzi, but Newt and Steele backed her big time, and denigrated conservative R’s that backed Hoffman.
The D’s have simply taken the country toward fascism at double the rate of speed that the R’s did.
AP has the nerve to run this as a news article. Yes they can! What nonsense. Democrats have more than a few problems that won’t be erased any time soon either.

Don’t forget Conrad Burns, who lost his Senate race in Montana in 2006 by a few thousand votes. He was under investigation before the election and later the charges were dropped—that could have cost him the election.
Let them keep denying it till they’re all politically thrown out into the gutter. It just makes it that much sweeter! :)

Yep, just as it turns out that O losing the Olympics for Chicago was a good thing after all, victory for the Repubs is bad for the party. Go figure. Next thing you know, we’ll find out from the old guard media is that we’ve always been at war with East Asia, right?
The AP is full of s*** as usual.
What she fails to mention is that the GOP lost big last election because conservatives didn’t turn out.
