AP IMPACT: Stimulus jobs overstated by thousands
October 29, 2009
By BRETT J. BLACKLEDGE and MATT APUZZO, Associated Press Writers
WASHINGTON A Colorado company said it created 4,231 jobs with the help of President Barack Obama's economic recovery plan. The real number: fewer than 1,000.
A child care center in Florida said it saved 129 jobs with the help of stimulus money. Instead, it gave pay raises to its existing employees.
Elsewhere in the U.S., some jobs credited to the stimulus program were counted two, three, four or even more times.

I wonder if this means that tomorrow’s GDP report will have some ‘unexpected’ results.

Barak Obama has screwed this country. At the very least, he has spent a trillion dollars and “stimulated” jack squat.

Barbara Moore, executive director of the Child Care Association of Brevard County in Cocoa, Fla., reported that the $98,669 she received in stimulus money saved 129 jobs at her center, though the cash was used to give her 129 employees a 3.9 percent cost-of-living raise. She said she needed to boost their salaries because some workers had left "because we had not been able to give them a raise in four years." This woman should be arrested for fraud and theft of our tax dollars!!!

Stimulus jobs overstated by thousands
^
Don’t there have to be thousands of Jobs first? May be in road construction and government jobs, there are no private sector ‘thousands’

The problem with these reports are that the MSM run them at midnight then by morning they’re off the loop.

New Housing estimates were lower then expected by about 10%, unemployment was higher then expected, retail sales? I think an honest number isn’t going to be much over 2% if at all

Love this quote from her:
In this, our 44rd year of serving children and families, the Child Care Association was able to provide high quality child care and early childhood related services
44rd year?
Barbara Moore
Every one of the examples cited is a goverment-related boondoggle.

A Colorado company said it created 4,231 jobs with the help of President Barack Obama's economic recovery plan. The real number: fewer than 1,000. A closer look will likely show Gov. Bill "Tax" Ritters finger prints all over this. Wonder if this a "new energy" outfit?

Actually, the left wing
Oregonian had it on the front page.
Normally, stuff like this (and the ACORN investigation) get left on page 7. Hmmmmmm

The Toledo, Ohio-based Koring Group received two FCC contracts, again for call centers. It reported hiring 26 people for each contract, or a total of 52 jobs, but cited the same workers for both contracts. The jobs only lasted about two months.
They doubled the counting of the same employees, and they were only hired for 2 months?! LOLOL.
