My guess is that his ratings, whatever they may be, are more a measure of people forgetting to change the channel when the Fox evening news is over than they are of his audience appeal or the quality of his reporting.

Shep has turned into a total jerk lately — more than usual, not certain what is going on with him, but this morning he had the ex-wife of the DC sniper on to discuss her book where she says the FBI came to her and told her the murders were all cover for his plan to kill her... she is working with other victims of domestic abuse, etc., in addition to the book and suddenly Shep demanded to know if she was keeping money from the book or donating the proceeds! What business is it of his? She wrote a book about what happened to her and it was published, so what if she makes money? yet it was a huge deal to Shep... she handled him well, BTW.
