NFL Star Punished in Wake of Gay Slur
TMZ ^ | October 27, 2009

Posted on 10/27/2009 8:34:42 PM PDT by Pinkbell

Kansas City Chiefs running back Larry Johnson just issued an apology for hurling a gay slur at reporters yesterday -- but it was too late ... the team has already sidelined him from team activities.

Here's Johnson's apology:

First of all, I want to apologize to the fans of the Kansas City Chiefs and the rest of the NFL, Commissioner Goodell, the Chiefs organization, Coach Todd Haley, his staff, and my teammates for the words I used yesterday"

"I regret my actions. The words were used by me in frustration, and they were not appropriate. I did not intend to offend anyone, but that is no excuse for what I said. "

"I also want to apologize to all the kids who view athletes as role models. I was not a good role model yesterday and hopefully I can become a better role model. We all make mistakes, and the challenge is to learn from them. I will do my best to learn from this one as I move toward becoming a better person, teammate, and member of the Kansas City chiefs team and community."

The Chiefs have "instructed Larry to refrain from practicing with the Chiefs or participating in other team activities" while they conduct an internal investigation.

Yesterday, I posted that GLAAD wanted him punished:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2371493/posts

Sure enough, he was. GLAAD responded to his apology:

GLAAD has responded to Larry Johnson's apology for hurling a gay slur at reporters yesterday -- and they're hoping the ordeal can be used as an example to other players in the NFL.

President of the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation Jarrett Barrios tells TMZ: "Larry Johnson's apology sends an important message that there is no excuse for using anti-gay epithets.

GLAAD is continuing to call on the NFL and the Kansas City Chiefs to use this unfortunate incident as a way to educate and start a dialogue with players and fans regarding the dangers of homophobia in sports."

As we previously reported, the Kansas City Chiefs have already sidelined Johnson from team activities.

The NFL made a conscious decision to court solely liberal fans. As a result, this is what they should expect to put up with.

Suckers.

You’d think that we’d all be somewhat indoctrinated at least by osmosis after all these years, but I still can’t get my head around a world in which someone has to apologise for calling depravity, depravity.

Soooo....it was OK that he “assaulted” reporters in a hostile manner. But incidentally calling them “gay” was crossing the line, huh?

“there is no excuse for using anti-gay epithets.”

Boy, ALOT of kids in schoolyards are going to be in big trouble. I’m sure the liberal weinies would be all about bringing back corporal punishment if it has to do with offending abnormal behaviors.

And they’ll keep it up as long as conservatives or plain average Americans continue to watch. It’ll get even more blatant. Surely a stupid game especially of professionals can’t be that important in the scheme of things? I could understand a tiny bit more if it was supporting your school or alma mater.

Jamaal Charles (5.0) and Dantrell Savage (5.1) are both averaging far more per rush than LJ (2.7). This just might help the Chiefs.

(And those solid stats are not from a single long run that inflates their average. No KC runner has a rush of 25+ yds this year. Savage's longest is 11.)

“remember when we had free speech in America... “

you still have free speech in this country as you will not be punished by a government for using language that may offend.

However, the KC Chiefs are not a government entity and can fine and suspend their employees for speech they feel is offensive.

Interesting how a bunch of queers have managed to turn some of America's toughest, most macho men into quivering mice. Saddest thing is that all the kids who view athletes as role models think the same way about homosexual perverts as this football player does. They are filthy, disgusting perverts and everyone knows it. It is this kind of groveling to queers that will make grovelers of our kids. This guy had the chance to be a man of honor and a HERO to many if he stood up and said, "I meant what I said, the media are a bunch of slithering homos".

It was “they were holding our tight ends, and if they even think about doing it again, I’m going to run them over!”

Mr. Johnson did claim that he was talking about football, but he should know that in 21st century America, all words must be interpreted in the worst possible way.

(Okay, I have no idea what Mr. Johnson really said. But the guy is paid to run over linebackers, not be a civil rights spokesman, so I don’t think it’s that big a deal.)

Stupid sucker NFL and college football fans make golf enjoyable because on Sat and Sun afternoon while they are watching stupid sucker ball games - the golf course is empty. The course is also empty due to Obama’s Depression but stupid NFL fans love Obama and the thug league.

Yep, FDR (if not Wilson) got socialism sneaked in through the back door—even then, before TV, Hollywood was laying subtle groundwork for having empathy for immorality, sympathy for criminals, unwed motherhood, etc. I think that way back at least their hearts were in the right place and they just didn’t see what it was going to lead to. In the 60s they took, no ripped the mask off.

I’m not ancient (not quite) and I can remember a world where at least average Americans would never be confronted, have their visual images polluted, with the sight of proud fags out of the closet. there was a time when you had to “knlow” to know, and a lot of us didn’t “know”. I wish I still didn’t.

When reporters entered the locker room on Monday, Johnson said, “I’m not talking [until] Thursday.”

And then Johnson uttered a sentence that surely will catch the interest of the league office.

Per KCSP, Johnson said partially under his breath, “Get your faggot asses out of here.”

Oh, noes! Only a faggot would make a big deal out of this.
