Hynes as Gov? God, I hope not.

I admit I'm not as knowledgeable as to IL 'inside baseball' politics like many of our astute IL FReepers, but like you say Hynes is the Machine guy. To me that means we might as well have Daley sitting there.

It's bad enough now with his lackeys pushing Chicago-centric Laws onto all of us (i.e.: Gun Control). And all of us paying for Chicago's messes, like Daley's FUBAR CTA system (and eventually 'WE" would have paid for any Olympic losses too). And with Hynes as Gov I can see 'us' paying for Chicago's FUBAR schools too! In addition to our own schools. (iirc last week a few of Daley's henchmen were in Springfield begging for 'state money' for Chicago Schools)

So Hynes, no. I hope not. The Machine is still worse than the Combine.

Mr Chairman, I cede my remaining time to those IL FReepers in the know :-)

True, 'ideally'.

As to Hynes being a weak candidate in the GE -- imo The Machine is still reeling from his loss to Barry O'Bammy in the rat primary way back when (it seems like ancient history now). And they won't let anything like that happen again. They'll come out swinging and guns blazing.

So the IL GOP will have to field a candidate with the name recognition of Microsoft - though hopefully not a 'Ryan', not ever (/s). And with a personal life of a saint; no icky divorces or Sex Clubs and tapes of drunken escapades at 3:00 am. (only Dems / Kennedys can have those)
