Robert (Bob) Bauer, the top lawyer for the Democratic National Committee and personal lawyer to President Obama and his chief campaign counsel, is emerging as the top candidate to replace Greg Craig as White House Counsel, Fox News has learned.
Senior White House officials declined to comment on Bauer's future status with the White House. But Democrats close to the situation said Bauer is under serious consideration as Craig's replacement. Craig is expected to leave the White House by year's end - if not sooner.
White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said no decisions have been made on Craig's future or on any potential replacement.

Bauer is married to White House Communications Director Anita Dunn. Dunn is also expected to leave the White House by year's end. Unlike Craig, Dunn's departure was understood when she took the communications post on an interim basis in late April. Dunn replaced Ellen Moran, Obama's first communications director, who resigned on April 21 to become Chief of Staff at the Commerce Department.

Family Affair
Attacking Fox News and defending President Barack Obama is a family affair for Anita Dunn, the White House communications director who has blasted Fox as an arm of the Republican Party, talked about "controlling" the news media and espoused her embrace of Chairman Mao as her favorite philosopher.
She's married to Robert Bauer, the chief of the political law group at Perkins Coie, the Seattle law firm hired by the White House to defend President Obama in court cases challenging his "natural born" citizenship status in the United States and thus, his eligibility under the U.S. Constitution to be president.
Also during the 2008 presidential campaign, Bauer as counsel for the Obama campaign wrote letters to television station managers and to Department of Justice Assistant Attorney General John Keeney arguing that airing an anti-Obama ad pointing to the known association between Obama and Weather Underground radical Bill Ayers would violate federal election rules.
In addition to representing Obama on eligibility cases, Bauer also is hired as legal counsel to represent the president in the criminal probe going on into the activities of former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich.

Yes it was funny. Somebody brought up a good point last night, on a thread discussing that video. They said it was as much about Beck messing with the WH, letting them know he had sources, as it was about trumping the announcement.
My Grandmother always said, “There’s someone for everyone”. Isn’t it nice these two nutjobs found each other. Let’s hope they pass any of those genes on though.

Beck announced this yesterday on his program when someone called him with the info while he was on the air.
I want the blue curtain guy to come on and end the curiosity, myself. I hope he’s better enough to be out of the hospital.
Hopefully more leakers and tipsters will be calling Beck. There is no way everyone in his administration can all loyal marxists. Can they?

My guess is that Bauer has the goods on Obama and knows he is not eligible. Hence the new position!

Do you have a link for that? My understanding was that Velamoor worked in the Products Liability department, not the Political Law department.
