The Real Flaw: Fox Is a No-Fawn Zone
Townhall ^ | 10/22/09 | Debra J. Saunders

The Obama White House's war on Fox News heated up when President Obama appeared on five Sunday talk shows in September, but snubbed Fox's Chris Wallace. Then White House Communications Director Anita Dunn told CNN's Howard Kurtz, "Fox News often operates almost as either the research arm or the communications arm of the Republican Party." On ABC's "This Week" Sunday, Obama guru David Axelrod commented on Fox mogul Rupert Murdoch's "talent for making money" -- and added that Fox News programming is "not really news."

Hurry -- time is running out to lose Afghan war!

The "government" there is corrupt from top to bottom; it has no control outside the city limits; vote-rigging has been honed to perfection; the economy is in tatters; public safety is a joke; dead bodies are stacking up all over the place as insurgent attacks grow by the hour. People are afraid to even venture out of their homes!

But enough about Chicago. Meanwhile, in just the last few weeks in Afghanistan:

-- Taliban bombers massacre five civilians traveling by car in Farah; in another gesture of peace, a suicide bomber on a motorcycle blows up four civilians in Herat, causing a total of 17 casualties; next day, Taliban bombers massacre six more civilians while traveling by car in Kunar; next day, in Kandahar, devout Muslims bomb a passenger bus, killing 30 people (10 children and seven women among the dead), injuring 39; a few days later, a Taliban bomb massacres four civilians at a market in Kunduz, injuring 20, while two American troops get shot to death by an "insurgent" dressed as a local solider (H/T, Thereligionofpeace.com). Then, heavily armed "Taliban insurgents" launch an assault in the eastern border region of Afghanistan, killing several American soldiers.

In a swift response to all the carnage, Obama launches another assault on . . . Fox News.

-- Days later, the Indian embassy in Kabul is attacked by a Muslim suicide bomber, killing 17 people and injuring 76. The Taliban quickly claimed credit for the mass murder. India's foreign ministry released a statement: "The attack was carried out by elements from outside Afghanistan [possibly Pakistan's ISI] seeking to damage the excellent India-Afghan relations."

The Obama White House retaliated by vowing to "treat [Fox News] the way we treat an opponent." (No word yet on when Obama starts treating the Taliban like an opponent.)

-- Soon after the Indian embassy bombing, a Muslim suicide bomber massacres six road construction guards,Taliban bombers kill a young policeman in Kunduz and Islamic "militants" murder two local soldiers via roadside bomb (H/T, Thereligionofpeace.com). In response, Obama held more 'Afghan strategy sessions' to figure out what his policy is, this after attending a gay rights gala to get military advice from Lady Gaga.

Meanwhile, during the period of Oct. 9-17, another 11 Americans in Afghanistan were killed via IED attacks or other hostile fire. Then, on Tuesday, another IED took the life of a Marine.

Obama responded by going to New York for two political fundraisers. Then he was back to obsessing about his favorite station, Fox News! He sat down for an NBC interview to talk about Fox News. After Mao disciple Anita Dunn declared Fox News "not a news organization," Obama met with non-opinionated Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow to talk about Fox News. Axelrod also recently met with 'reporters' to complain about Fox News. Ballerina Rahm also recently met with 'reporters' to whine about Fox News.

If the White House's "strategy" was to drive up the 'Not-a-News-Organization' news organization's ratings off the charts while pushing Obama's lame-o numbers even further south, it's worked swimmingly. Politico grandees think this lunatic "strategy" is an effort to "quarantine" Fox News -- which is sorta like closing the barn door once the horses escape. You can talk "quarantining" until the Rachel Maddcows come home, but this only makes sense as some fizzled longshot effort to preempt some big Watergate-sized scandal you know is coming down the pike. Bigger than ACORN? Maybe. But if you're Obama's lonely brain cell and choosing whether to take Afghan advice from Generals in the field or Ballerina boy is a months-long bewildering exercise, "isolating" a network juggernaut that runs 13 of the 15 biggest cable news audience-magnets could look like a 'smart idea' in Obamastan.

Anyway, that's...

“and added that Fox News programming is “not really news.””

Naturally. Hearing the truth is very unwelcome news to them. They’re not used to it and they don’t like it.

Has ANYONE in the media acknowledged the fact that all the other outsides are behaving like White House lapdogs?

Fox mogul Rupert Murdoch's "talent for making money"

Ted Turner never did that. Shame, shame, for a business to try to make money.

LOL/ Pathetically true and perfectly said. . .and great read per 'Fox News' update! Nothing like 'truth in humor' to bring it home.

Fox News and all who support FN; must join in the fight to do what the Left does best. 'Isolate the target. . .(denigrate/ridicule) and destroy - at least their reputation. Fox News could help with some humorous soundbites and/or bumper stickers/decals etc. Your /Fox News 'NO FAWN ZONE'/ would be a great message to share!

As well, another 'lol/sigh': FOX NEWS - not your Government Option Media. . .or. . .id these people as the 'sock puppets'/aka 'useful idiots', that they are. (Say NO to Sock Puppet Media/Live,Learn/watch Fox News!)

What EVER! Want these fools for the Left on the defensive; decrying that they are NOT pawns; denying that they are not a 'FAWN ZONE' (lol); that they are NOT 'sock puppets' and they are NOT Government Option Media. Just denying the 'charges' here; would make them a bad joke. Which is what we want; because it is what they are.

Beyond that truth; another; this corrupted media is a danger and a threat to our nation. (Makes me think of another visual. Poison symbol/warning with every MSM mention. Whatever the case; TRUTH works/sigh.)

Hmm. 'TRUTH WORKS HERE/Fox News!'. . .ok. . .enough/enough; but they do need our support!

Every commentator on Fox News should be required to work the comparison of BO to Nixon into their pieces. The BO thugocracy has a very thin skin, and this reference to Nixon’s “enemies list” is making them crazy. Tea Partiers should drop the discredited Hitler signs and replace them with Nixon signs at the next rallies because Dems hate Nixon far more than they do Hitler.

They do hate Nixon; but hate making Nixon the poster boy for 'anti'Obama! Also; Nixon looks like 'Mr. Nice Guy' compared to BO. And of course, Nixon did have a legacy beyond Watergate. . .but yes, these people do need to be targeted in meaningful fashion. Whatever 'makes their day' we should be using it.

When it comes to the degreaded Leftites; the truth should hurt.

All who are concerned about this issue: It is a fake issue. Concentrate your efforts and your troop-direction to Health Care, Cap and Trade, and Afghanistan.

I cannot agree more...let Murdoch handle this and lets get back to the phones, emails, letters and visits.

No one can touch Fox right now!
