I am kinda ignorant about such things, but let me ask anyway. The recent eq’s in the pacific seem to have triggered others. Is there anyway to know if more can be expected anytime soon further up the coast of CA? Please tell me no. lol

It certainly seems as though the plates, they are moving. If you look at the vast area from Samoa to Indonesia, things are still shaking. If your interest is mostly in the US, look at Southern and Central California for very small quakes, 1.0 to 2.5, along the transverse fault area. Kind of spooky.

Overdue.

World Plates

That map shows all existing seismic plates.

As you can see, the plates at work in Panama/Costa Rica (Cocos/Nazca/Caribbean) are not the same ones affecting California (Pacific/Juan de Fuca/North American.)

Aside from that, there are hundreds of quakes of all sizes worldwide, and how (or if) they interact no one knows, that I am aware.

Here is the place to check all earthquakes worldwide:

World Earthquakes

On that page are regional maps with more details.

Good luck!
