Thirty-nine percent (39%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -11 (see trends).

The Presidential Approval Index is calculated by subtracting the number who Strongly Disapprove from the number who Strongly Approve. It is updated daily at 9:30 a.m. Eastern (sign up for free daily e-mail update). Updates also available on Twitter and Facebook.

Overall, 47% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance. That figure has stayed in a very narrow range between 47% and 52% every day for six weeks. Fifty-one percent (51%) now disapprove (see recent demographic highlights).

The suicide watch of the -3 last week is over. The hangover watch for the -11 begins.

it’ll bomb even further when he announces more troops for afghanistan and the party tries to railroad their suicidal healthcare nuclear vote plan.

You know the really bad news in these polls.

Dear Reader is still riding the good will of the "Centerists" who are still blaming Bush for this economy. The longer this economy stays stagnate, more and more of these people will switch from blaming Bush to holding 0 accountable for this lousy economy.

Time is not on Dear Reader's side.

Not so. He has been below 30% many times with the lowest being 27%.

railroad their suicidal healthcare nuclear vote plan.

This is going to make the Overall look exactly like the strongly approve / disapprove. The nuclear option is just what is says, there is no going back. You will either love it, or see it as the start of a dictatorship. There will be no middle ground. The bad news is that will put Obama's strongly approve up over 40%. The bad news is it will put his strongly disapprove to over 50%.

We are getting very close to a political breaking point. Either the Blue Dogs will revolt in order to save themselves or the McCain and the gals from Maine will in essence take over the GOP and silence all dissenting voices. With less than 30% strong approve Obama can't use the nuclear option without consequences. The GOP now has to decide if they go all out rebel (in political terms not guns ... yet) or if they will catch the next train to serfdom.

The new ‘green’ lightbulbs - priced for clearance at 50 cents yesterday! I’m hazarding a guess that Cap N Tax isn’t going to go over so well here.
